Connections you found to other SH games...

I'll start with the easiest one...

Harry jumping down and falling deeper into Cheryl's subconscious resembles Silent Hill 2.

Re: "What are you wearing these for?" *spoilers*

The Dhalia Harry meets is very young, "Dahlia" is how Cheryl sees her mother when she was her age (or maybe even younger). It's possible when Harry was younger he didn't wear glasses and thus the young Dahlia is confused to see him wear them and takes them off.

Re: Is this game worth it?

If you have a Wii, I would say get it. This game was made for motion controls and really adds to the overall experience. I think anyone who didn't like it probably played it on the PSP/PS2. The nightmare chase scenes can literally be a nightmare because they're so frustrating but the plot is amazing...

Re: "Stop Watching Me!!!"

Well, everything has to do with Cheryl because this is all taking place in her head. If she's screaming "STOP WATCHING ME" and saying how she's not pretty enough then it could be a part of her that is self-conscious. Cheryl is 25 and anyone who is 25 and older knows when you hit that numbe...

Re: What does Cybil represent?

Yeah, Cybil is trying to tell Harry the truth throughout the game. In the hospital she tries to break the news gently but is frozen over, at Lisa's apartment she flat out says "you're not Harry Mason" and is frozen again. When Harry is at the lighthouse, Cheryl is close enough to the truth...

Re: The Bartender

I got the bar on my first playthrough. I remember seeing the diner and thinking "I probably have to go there like in the original SH, so I'll just explore around and see if I can pick up anything useful." So I went in the bar not expecting a cutscene. The funny thing is I haven't been able...

Re: Ignoring Lisa's call?

I've tried it, the door's locked and you can't enter the mall. When you go back the same scene will play depending on what colour pills you gave her.

Re: What does Cybil represent?

Cheryl is essentially drawing information from Kaufman. And Harry is drawing information from Cybil. The similarities in the two characters pushing the characters forward is hard to ignore as just fan-theory coincidence. Every time Cybil tries to present the truth the world is frozen over... In the ...

I think we're forgetting the bigger issue... How did Eddie find edible Pizza in Silent Hill?

Re: Eddie's Dog

Unless Silent Hill manages to not only reconstruct animals' torsos but also summon animals to it, I can safely say Mira is not the same dog Eddie shot. Ah, but Maria isn't the same Mary that James smothered with a pillow now is she? So Mira isn't the same dog Eddie knew and was a kinder gentler dog...

Eddie's Dog

Crazy old Eddie shot a dog and the poor thing died.

I guess he didn't realise that dog would come back to control all the craziness in Silent Hill and teach James Japanese. As we can see from the credits, the dog growls at Eddie's big gut so there's no denying this is the same dog.

Re: Anyone else wish this followed the same style as SM?

Ah yes, I forgot about the Police Station in the original Silent Hill. But like AuraTwilight pointed out, it wasn't an area that you could explore that would progress you through the game.

But what hasn't Silent Hill covered yet?

A police station I guess. Which would seem fitting for SH8.

Re: What does Cybil represent?

That was only after he basically ditched her. If he followed Cybil's orders, he'd of been waiting indefinitely. Right, I think Cybil definately changes through the game. When she's talking to Harry in the car ride to the woods you can hear a lot of Cheryl in her dialouge. But as we progress, she's ...

Re: Anyone else wish this followed the same style as SM?

Say what you will about the otherworld in SM but it had one of the best psychological stories since 2. I mean, honestly, didn't everyone just assume Shattered Memories was exploring Harry's mind until the end of the game? I don't know if they'll ever be able to pull off such an amazing twist again.....

Re: heres something, (spoilers)

There is no possible way Shattered Memories can fit into the time line because it's the only game that's set in another universe. The only way Shattered Memories would work is if this was a sequel to the Bad ending in SH. This completely changes the entire story from the original Silent Hill. Harry ...

Re: Would you like Shattered Memories HD for PlayStation Mov

Yeah, the 3D fad is also driving me a little nuts. Mostly because films are now relying on 3D instead of enhancing the experience. I liked Avatar and I liked a few CGI kids movies I saw with my little cousins like Monster House and Despicable Me. But because of Avatar's success and record breaking g...

Re: Would you like Shattered Memories HD for PlayStation Mov

Meh, I dunno. The Wii was all about easy-to-play party games. While the PS3 has more movie-based games. They were different, and that's a good thing IMO. Of course there are always excpetions, but there's more Wii Sports/fit/play/resort then there are story-driven games on the Wii. I'm just saying t...

Re: Would you like Shattered Memories HD for PlayStation Mov

Yeah, but the entire video game industry is based around copying. I mean should the N64/Saturn (not sure which was first) be the only console with an analog stick? Should Mario be the only game series with an independently controllable camera? Should only Nintendo consoles have D-pads and rumble? S...

Like I said a couple times, Dahlia is the opinion Cheryl has of her mother.... And like I also said, since the characters take place in Cheryl's mind, none of them are real. But they are based on SOMETHING. And that something connects us to the real person. The Harry we play is not the real Harry Ma...
