Re: Silent Hills cancelled
Lots of wise and interesting things are being said. I'm at least grateful that for more and more people, the ugly truth of the industry is revealed. The naked villainy is wholly exposed and it is astonishing how big corporations are completely shameless in their behavior. They are literally without ...

Sony, Nintendo, Square-Enix, Atlus... Please buy the rights for the Castlevania franchise. Please. Anyone really. Just don't sell the series to Microsoft, EA, Activision, Namco Bandai and Capcom. Just don't. @Agent: I fucking love your signature. Do you mind if I use it? We should start some shit u...

Konami has finally responded, and insists it intends to continue the Silent Hill franchise despite Silent Hills being cancelled.
No god please no. I´d rather it just stayed dead then.

I found it lacking it didn't have cheat codes or pre-order DLC.

Re: New composer?
Assuming the devs listed at the end of the demo are working on Silent Hills, and not just the one demo, then the new composer would be Ludvig Forssell. This choice shouldn't be surprising, since he's worked with Kojima before on MGS. Here's a look at his IMDb page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm560388...

Re: New composer?
I was kind of hoping that Licht would return. I really liked his work on Downpour. Did I play a different game? Maybe mine was broke cause the only thing I can remember was just ONE awful track that was stuck on loop. I listened to the soundtrack on youtube and I can't remember hearing these tracks...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Finally got around to reading Issue #2 (I'd gotten a little busy). Again, I really love the art and the coloring. It's a bit fast-paced, but I guess a Silent Hill story would be if you skip the hours of running around town doing non-narrative type stuff (try watching any of the games of cutscenes o...

True the title was probably based on the feeling you got when reading it.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Well considering it's based on a rather bland game, the comic is ok I guess. More tension. The artist also worked on Downpour's story itself correct? I liked his previous SH comics very much.

Re: This or Sh4: The Room
Downpour is superior in pretty much every category in my opinion. I have to agree, besides story, atmosphere, and overall creep factor. Everything else in Downpour is better. So besides everything that makes a good silent hill game or a decent horror game for that matter, everything else in Downpou...

Re: This or Sh4: The Room
As a Silent Hill game: The Room obviously. Even with all the flaws combined (escort quest, inventory system, wanky controls, no radio or flashlight, no real darkness, all these things are done way better in Downpour) it was a more scary and had a more interesting story then Downpour had. When it com...

Re: Is Silent Hill 2 Really as Bad as They Say?
SH 2 isn't as bad as some people say, it's actually a lot worse. The logic in puzzles is complete baffling and honestly who did the creature design? Completely without features, whats up with that? The sound and music design is outright terrible and don't forget the bland and lifeless atmosphere. Wa...

Re: Kojima: "I want gamers to shit their pants"
About Kojima's role; I think the guy is pretty brilliant in his MGS work but it's a bit too much sometimes. The MGS storyline is too much convoluted for it's own good. Part of the brilliance in the early SH games is the lack of exposition and explanation. In MGS they (try to) explain everything but ...

Re: Cons! What the teaser could have done better! ಠ益à²
Silent 2 and 4 don't mention alessa or the cult and I think they're better for it. Are you sure? 2 was very much standalone, but I'm reasonably sure The Room was packed with references to the Order, though not to Alessa herself. Yes actually it's Dahlia who taught Walter that room 302 was in fact h...

Re: Cons! What the teaser could have done better! ಠ益à²
I've played it yesterday, on my friends ps4 and I have to say although it was a brilliant way to introduce the new title: I hope the whole game doesn't follow this pattern. I don't know if I could handle it. Seriously knowing that you´re being followed and you shouldn't look back is one of the hard...

The only thing I can remember about this movie now, is a part at the burger place where a butcher is cutting a piece of meat of a living person on a meet hook who has his head in a plastic bag. The Butcher grinning as he cut. Sick as this might be on it's own, it felt so out of tone that I laughed o...

Re: Lessons from the last few years
Interesting point of view on Konami JDnation, it sounds like you have some information from the inside to have such detail. It all sounds plausible but I can't phantom that they just couldn't hire some translators to work with new hd engines. And the folks at Square enix didn't seem to have problems...

Re: Silent Hills / PT Team
I actually wasn't that surprised to hear about the new announcement of a new SH title because there was an interview with Akira Yamaoka on the Konami website about SH music like at the end of July this year. That would've been very random if this wasn't followed up by at least some announcement. Wha...

Re: Lessons from the last few years
I think SH does need a larger budget at this point, as jdnation stated. The old games weren't cobbled together with a tiny budget. They were pretty well funded, I believe, and this shows in the visual department. Only recently has SH as a series been pawned off to the dev teams willing to spend the...

Re: Lessons from the last few years
Frankly I'd prefer they utilize both. 3rd person primary toggable to 1st. And sections of 1st person locked, and moments of fixed camera angles. Of course the key is for there to be a sense of consistency and things that require you to use both perspectives to make a difference. Ah another lesson: ...
