Re: Here it is guys! OFFICIAL Silent Hill: Revelation TRAILE
I don't mind the idea of Heather having a school chum, but seriously, Vincent would've been the number one reason why I would've wanted to see a Silent Hill 3 film.

Looks terrible. I probably won't ever even watch it unless it miraculously becomes the first game movie to ever get great reviews.

Re: When did you first start having doubts about James? SPOI
It says SPOILERS in the thread title so no tags for me. I never predicted it. Because he was upset, I thought there might be the chance he might screw up and do something bad at some point, but I didn't think he'd already done anything. He seemed genuinely freaked out about killing Eddie after all. ...

Re: Who else was disappointed by Homecoming?
I liked Travis' story in Origins. The prequel idea was pretty unnecessary anyway and the scenes involving Travis' backstory were the most interesting to me.

"she's the only character that gets a song while dying"
Probably cause she's the first one and it still feels all shocking and important. Probably also why the scene is so long and focued on and such.

@ Question S, a lot of those were interesting. The one about peepholes really got to me somehow. I gotta say, though, Travis laughs at Lisa's joke.

Re: Eileen Nominated for Least Popular Character in Video Ga
I didn't say it was amusing, I said it was sad. I don't think any scene after that made me care as much. Room of Angel playing probably did help a little bit. But her death scene was really the only one that did anything for me. I'm afraid Jasper's was somewhat amusing, and the rest just didn't matt...

^ Cynthia? Her final scene was probably the best in the game. Henry sucked though, yeah. I don't hate the empty vessel idea, Harry was kinda like that, but Henry really bugged me.

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie
^ That's true, there is something of a very vague combo system, but I don't think they even tell you about it in game and it's hardly necessary to beat it. There is something of a light and heavy attacks thing though, and I didn't mind its inclusion just for variety's sake. It certainly didn't make ...

Re: My Silent Hill 1 review
It's not a matter of personal opinion, the PS2 games just have better graphics. The only way to see that as fact is if you mean that it is more people's opinion that PS2 graphics are superior than that PS1 graphics are superior. However, if you follow this idea, you lead to the concept that there a...

Re: My Silent Hill 1 review
There's nothing wrong with comparing graphics. I like good graphics in PS1 games better than bad graphics in PS2 games. Being a PS2 game doesn't automatically mean it has better graphics. I don't like SH4's graphics nearly as much as the first game's.

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie
"If anything restricting the player to less moves by making them use the same two or three hit combos is more repetitive." That's what he said. I don't even think it was badly worded. "Or you could focus on both. Upgraded fighting mechanics and horror can exist without one taking away...

I didn't like the charge attacks in SH4. Felt too arcadey, it was actually a little laugh inducing. I did enjoy the final boss fight though.

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie
^ Silent Hill 3 has a hidden stamina bar that's exactly like that, you can even see it if you beat hard mode. As I've said elsewhere in a thread that's becoming eerily like this one, stealth would be cool. "The feeling of dread that accompanies exploration wouldn't be there if I wasn't concerne...

Now that I think of it, part of why I was so good at killing Walter might've been partly cause I had the strategy guide haha.

^ Yo Tillerman, that first paragraph, THANK YOU. "So you're basically one of those fans who plays the game's specifically for the story and atmosphere and not the gameplay." No I'm not. I just think that the best gameplay elements in survival horror involve level exploration and puzzles, n...

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie
"Upgrading combat is not one of the reasons they've gotten worse." Focusing more on combat is one of the reasons they've gotten worse, and why would they upgrade it if they weren't going to focus on it more? I wouldn't be upset about the changes to the series if I had actually liked any of...

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie
"It is possible to play a SH game while being scared and having fun." The fun of SH games should come from level exploration, looking for keys, and solving puzzles. Combat should be an obstacle inbetween the fun parts. It doesn't need to be particularly hard, complex, and it being fun isn'...

Re: Silent Hill 2: The Last Survival Horror Game (In-Depth)
SH2 actually scared me the most. My first impressions weren't all that scary, 2 is the only one that actually got MORE scary the more I played it, and the fear lasted the longest. I dunno, it got under my skin, and in the Labyrith P-Head freaked me out. SH1 is the 2nd scariest for me. 3 was very ter...
