How on earth can you retcon the enitre first movie to make a nonsensical second movie and expect people not to notice?

It's a creepy foreshadowing of the end of James's journey and a reminder of the fate that awaits him at the end of the game.

Silent hill 3 is in a way a re-telling of the original as you pretty much visit most of the same locations as the original and use the same plot devices such as the seal of Metatron and the birthing of God.

I used to think the same until i realized it killed the mystery of the game for me regarding the James's fate. The ambiguity lets us think about these things at a much more deeper level and it is much better for it.

Does anybody even care anymore? i mean its already 7 months old and from what i've heard, the stuttering is still there. So i dont see how the patch is going to make the game any better.

with the way they've handled the HD Collection, do you really want them to destroy silent hill 4 as well?

BTW Silent hill 4 is out on PSN Japan, so do yourself a favour and get that.

Then you may be unaware of how many fans show up on his profile and tell that they consider it to be the true ending. This is his way of agreeing with them for once.

It could be:

1. a loop.
2. the town reminding him of his mortality.
3. a foreshadowing of his own death.
4. The town telling him where to go.

Nobody knows. Therein lies the beauty of Silent Hill 2 in its ambiguity.

This movie may have killed off the franchise completely.

IGN seems to share the same sentiment.

Dont buy the HD Collection. get a used copy of the ps2 or pc versions for the best experience.

Guy Cihi posted this a few minutes ago... i used to remember arguing with him about the canonicity of the endings a few years ago. fun times. it is a startling revelation though. One that makes the ending a hundred times more creepier.Again, this doesnt change anything. just some new food for though...
