Re: Is Silent Hill 3 the scariest SH?
When people call SH3 the scariest, I think they're talking about the strange moments like the mannequin head being chopped off or Coleman's letters, which create an atmosphere of uncertainty and uneasiness, combined with horrific looking images and scenery. Everything is so unexplained, and it gets ...

Aw, only 1 for the US version. I guess only one person got the bathroom joke. And only 3 people got the Happy Burger joke.

Wow, that's creepy. It's making me hesitate to continue with my current playthrough. So she just stares at you like that while on a buoy? WTF!

Re: How this game could have been fixed.
Speaking of combat, the final boss should have been Dr K., where Harry must fight him in a mud wrestling match... while naked. Not only would the mud would be symbolic of blindness from the truth, but it would be greatest achievement of manservice in the series, making it a great game to play while ...

Re: what would you like to see in silent hill 8
-Creative use of claustrophobic fear and symbolism. -Make the protagonist have limited combat capabilities. -Targeting system similar to older SH games. -Motion-capture animations and cutscenes. -Creepy camera angles. -Gritty, dirty, and horrific looking environments. Shouldn't be too clean looking....

Though I wished the head could actually do something instead of just stand there and look at Henry. As I said in another thread, it would've been cool if Eileen reacted to her own giant head when you bring her into that location.

Re: Which cover do you think BEST represents the game?
Yeah, I'm a sucker for stylish covers that show off their cute female lead. Maybe that's why I'm not too fond of the UK cover, even though it accurately projects Heather's mental state and seems the most Silent Hill-ish.

Re: The Children in Silent Hill 8
Or it could be some boy who stole his lollipop and some girl who kicked him in the balls once for accidentally spilling his lunch on her lap at the school cafeteria. Or what Adversary said. We'll just have to see. Murphy has the potential to be a very interesting and complex character if the symboli...

Re: SH:R Director Michael J Bassett's blog
There seems like a good chance this is gonna be way better than the first film, seeing as how passionate for the source material he is, unlike that OTHER director who is a sexist punk who had no idea what he was doing in terms of plot and characters! Still can't put my hopes too high. Not to be cyni...

Re: serial killer in the woods?
Ah, that clears some things up. Yeah, I'm really bad at connecting all the dots. How was this moment relevant enough to Cheryl for her to express the scenery for Harry to witness? I think it would be traumatic for anyone to witness a death, regardless of whether or not it was murder or accident, fri...

Re: Origins is the best Silent Hill game ever made
Uhm, I don't think that in order to say heather is a better main protagonist, you have to call her a real man. That's just disrespectful. I was just joking around with that. I was trying to humor the OP, since I found her post to be funny with putting REAL MAN in caps and mentioning fists when you ...

Re: anyone want more Occult references?
I think SH8 should concentrate on different things than the cult. Sure, I would love to see the cult return in another installment. Just not in this game, as I think we need to put our exploration of the cult to rest for now.

Re: Is this game worth it?
Worth it. I have the PSP version, though I warn you some textures are missing compared to the PS2 and Wii versions, so that can get a little annoying when navigating the environments. Still, worth it if you want a thought-provoking and atmospheric survival horror. Just don't expect it to be the trad...
