Re: Demo Video

Funny considering Kojma himself has long since been a vocal supporter of Western gameplay designs and has openly encouraged his staff to draw inspiration from the West in that department. And the MGS series itself appeals mostly to the Western market. But I guess it's supposed to be different just b...

Re: Alessa: good or evil [spoilers for SH1 and SH3]

Am I going to have to be the one (as usual) to point out this user's spamming shtick form SHC and the obscenely obvious spamming on this forum? This isn't being done for debating. It's being done for reactions.

Re: when did you realize... *possible spoilers*

I wouldn't really say I "figured it out" but the thought that James might have killed his wife did occur to me at the conversation he had with Angela after saving her from Abstract Daddy. I had heard a few comments floating around prior to playing the game that he killed her, but I had jus...

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie

Both of our opinions are based more on preferences than anything else. Don't try to pretend like your preferences are somehow more "logical," because that's BS. You apparently think that ALL games with some sort of combat should automatically have a combo system. That's a pretty narrow mi...

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie

No, there isn't anything wrong with differing opinions. There is something wrong, however, with opinions that are not based in any sort of logic. But that's just it, adding combos is not an "improvement" to combat. I disagree with your premise, that combat is "improved" by adding...

Re: Will you watch SHR in 3D or regular?

Regular if I have a choice. I don't care about 3D and it's just a few more bucks spent on a worthless gimmick. I've only two movies in 3D: Toy Story 3 and Dredd. Both instances because the 3D showings were the only showings available for me to see.

It's just two games. Nobody knows for sure if he'll stay with future installments. That said, I don't really mind. At least they chose someone who was an interesting character

Re: The new face of Alessa...

Well, we don't know how large a role Young Alessa will play in this so it's hard to say how it would affect anything. It will likely be minor past reflective stuff though. Heather will still be at the forefront of everything.

Re: Why BoM WON'T kill the series

It's not wise to tell the other person to get over things when you're the guy who didn't have the common sense to specify what you were talking about. And even that that claim about the camera is stupid since it's been a common camera style in many dungeon crawlers before God of War was a gleam in a...

"game play" = the stills on the internet of the game play.... Well, if you're going to talk about the camera say so to start with and not after the fact. Just saying gameplay isn't going in depth enough. Don't get antsy just because points out that you said something rather stupid....

Re: Why BoM WON'T kill the series

Dude, I'm firm with everybody I respond to and profanity alone doesn't mean somebody is mad. All you said was gameplay. You didn't say anything about a fixed overhead cam and even that is a sloppy comparison to God of War especially considering it's a camera style many dungeon crawlers have used alr...

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie

Silent Hill has always had set patterns and lock on mechanics when fighting monsters even before Homecoming came along. It's just more noticeable in SH4 and Homecoming because those games make you fight melee more often. And fighting creatures feeling like going through the motions? You can say that...

A fucking dungeon crawling RPG looks like God of War? Carry this trash somewhere else. If you don't like the game all you have to do is not buy it. Don't turn into a soap opera of woes.

Re: Did innovations in combat mechanics enhance your experie

I'm trying to think, and I believe the only thing that qualifies as a combo in SH2 is the two-hit attack with the board/pipe. It's not much of a combo, but I think it's a superior way for a Silent Hill game to have a "quick successive hits" type of move. It's very simple to do, fairly int...

Re: Revelations: Persona Reference

I doubt it's intentional. Mary's hotel room in SH2 is 312 not 302 and Mary's name in the Japanese version of Persona 1 is Maki which was carried over to the PSP version even in the North American release. It's just another one of those coincidences such as RE3 containing Carlos remarking "There...
