Yeah, Downpour's OST is subtler and more ambient. Most of the tracks in BoM are more guitar-driven, with more experimental tracks. It's certainly different for SH, but interesting.

Droo, give it a listen on YouTube, if you haven't already. It's VERY different from Downpour's OST.Droo wrote:I think Love Psalm is incredible. Not much interest in the rest of the OST since Downpour's failed to stand out at all to me.

Re: OST puts the eric in generic.
I love the [BLEEP] out of this soundtrack. Hands down the best soundtrack I've ever had in a game. No, it doesn't sound like Akira, but it was never meant to. It perfectly complements the gameplay in BoM. I'm actually surprised to see someone hating it. Every other reaction I've seen from people has...

Re: Why BoM WON'T kill the series
I wonder how dying in BoM will work. Would it return you to the start of the level, or are there checkpoints? What if you're with others and somebody dies? And how will it play into the story? It's your nightmare right? So you can't permanently die. There are libraries (save rooms) to mark your pro...

Wow, nice collections, everyone. That Heather kit is gorgeous beyond words.
Does anyone need the R2 JPN DVD of the SH movie (3 disc set with the art book)? Not really doing anything with mine.

Re: Silent Hill Book of Memories Trailer from E3
Let's define what a SH game is supposed to be - A horror game where you're alone - Few ammo and health kits - Confined locations - Scary - Unique mood I didn't realize an SH game was "supposed to be" the same objective list of elements for everyone. At any rate, BoM does have all of those...

Re: Silent Hill Book of Memories Trailer from E3
The more you play the game, the more you'll realize just how SH it is. But you'll have to actually play it to experience that.

Re: Why BoM WON'T kill the series
I mean, the SH movie wasn't by any stretch perfect, but Phead was incredible in it. I don't recall anyone in the theater leaping up to point at the screen and shout, "Wait a minute! Where's James Sunderland??" If the character works well in another game, film, comic, whatever - use him. It...

Re: Why BoM WON'T kill the series
i don't like the gaming mechanics behind it or the fact that it has other characters nightmarish creatures all in one game... Exactly where does this notion come from? It seems to be one of the most prevalent complaints of SH fans game-to-game, that they reuse creatures like Pyramidhead who 'belong...

I mean, great: the multiplayer aspect, from this point of view, is a pro. But it's like the total innovative and passionate inspiration that this article refers to is in fact confined by a fear of reception, therefore, it's like almost as a compromise they inserted the revitalisation aspect: "...

The soundtrack's incredible. It doesn't sound like Yamaoka, but then it's not supposed to. Licht perfectly set the tone for each of the game's unique worlds, bosses, and situations. It's my favorite soundtrack from any of the games I've worked on, and I still listen to it daily while working on subs...

We love horror games (LIT, Bloodrayne, Aliens) and we worked with Konami previously on Contra 4, which was well received. And SH is my favorite game series of all time. So there you have it.
