Right. It's just a scrap of paper. You can make your mind believe whatever you want it to, given enough effort. In James' case, he forced himself to believe that responsibility for Mary's death didn't lie with him.

Can we please stop talking about why you do or don't like the title, and address what Drewfus has brought up?

That's up for interpretation, I'd say. One could also say he's selfish and cared only about this own comfort, depending on which ending you see as canon.

Well that's pretty damned definitive, I'd say.

The film similarities concern me a lot, and the action/gunplay doesn't look appealing to me; it seems out of places. However, by and large, this looks promising.

I actually kind of enjoyed reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra, though. I didn't agree with much of the philosophy put forth in it, though.

But of course Nietzsche has an influence on Silent Hill, particularly on the 2nd iteration.

I wish that "Leave" was the canon ending, simply because I'd like to think that redemption for James is possible. But"In Water" is likely the most in line with what's realistic.

Dahlia seems far too flat-out power hungry to be "brainwashed." I'm sure she believed in the Order's God, but when all is said and done, she was in the whole thing for her own selfish ends.

If you're talking about Metal Gear--if you watch all of the FMVs, then yeah, they're long games. But if you just skip them and go through, the games only take 3-5 hours to complete. Which is fine, they're amazing games. But they're not "long."

When the hell was she violent? She didn't attack anyone unprovoked throughout the entirety of the game, to my recollection. If you're talking about her locking James in the hospital room--how is that not a natural reaction for a child that young?

Well it's not as if she was a sociopath just killing for the hell of it. It's made fairly obvious that she'd been heavily abused throughout her childhood. Not that that excuses slaughtering her father and (presumably) brother, but there's a distinction to be made there.
