So I just finished watching the movie "Sinister", and while not a fantastic film, one thing that stuck with me was the music. It had a lot of haunting sounds, with some audible almost chanting in certain tracks. Very well done and one of the things that kept the film creepy.
Granted, we'd need a good SH game to go with a score like this, but a game on the level of Downpour would be fantastic for such a score, and I think it'd really be on its own amongst the Yamoaka/Licht scores.

Considering that Licht's score for Downpour was pretty medicore and uninteresting (to me), Young would probably be a decent way to go.

I do remember hearing some SFX that akira used. I doubt it would sound any better than Licht.

Loved Sinister. One of the best recent horror movies I can think of.

Wasn't most of its soundtrack licensed music, though? Fitting music either way.

I adored the soundtrack, the movie wouldn't have been nearly as unsettling as it was without it.

Nyarlathotep is right, and I think more effective pieces (i.e. those used to juxtapose the snuff segments), were those which were licensed.

Here's most of the tracks done by Young.

I like his original work, and it probably wouldn't be out of place in a SH. I didn't mind Licht's score though, so I wouldn't mind if he worked on the next game (if there is a "next game").

Sinister was my favorite horror movie of 2012.

My favorite tracks were done by Ulver. That group did the music for the first and second super 8 reels, Family Hanging Out and BBQ '79. Those and the Pool Party definitely reminded me of SH since they started out with the peaceful music and the happy families, only to switch over to a complete nightmare.
