FAQ
Why are you bothering when there are so many plot guides out there already?

Simplicity & fact.
Two things that are missing from most guides on the net.
They might be good, but only if you've got the time to read through them & only if you agree with the theoretical angle in them.
Most guides usually only cross one game at a time too, this'll cover it all.
Best suited to those who've not played all games & want to get a better idea of why, for example, SH3 (played is so closely related to SH1 (not played).
Good place to get subtle (but true) connections that the hardcore SH fans might've missed.

Will you be using your theories?

No. I'm admittedly theory queen and have very firm ideas about the town, characters, plots & history, but in this instance I'll pay the courtesy of leaving personal interpretation to the person reading it.

What about all the links? Aren't they based on theory?

No. They are the names of entities etc used in the game/s, so I've simply added sources based on historical/mythological facts.
What the reader does with these sources, theory wise, is entirely up to them.

Links

In-Game Definitions & Quick References SH1 to SH4:

1 Aglophotis - The actual herb, inspiring the drug, the conspiracy,....the addiction.

(1) (2) (3) (4) Archetypes
A different way of looking at the characters of Silent Hill through the combination of storytelling with myths & religion.
Use it to see if you can find relationships between SH characters & archetypes.

1 Gyromancy
aka 'Saint Vitus Dance'
You'll find some obvious & subtle relationships between this outline & events/characters of SH1.

3 4 Halo of the Sun
Translated By 'Mary Kinstler' @ SHF using Hungarian Runes - the symbol that means more than you may have realised.
- Used as save points in SH3
- Bordering the Portals in SH4

Thanks darl. Pleasure to do it. :D

It's not a major breakthrough in SH info, but it'll atleast give people who theorise over SH or people who've not played all the games the opportunity to have something to browse over for quick reference. :)

This guide, I'm ashamed to say, has been sitting collecting dust since last year.
The Adversary & LastGunslinger can testify to my appalling procrastination.

Thanks al. :)

I didn't mention the surname 'Garland' only because beyond sharing the same surname there's no other evidence to suggest they're related.
I'd need atleast one other solid tie-in to consider it a fact. (Eg- The landlord speaking about James & Mary as his relatives).

The colours help a little I think, especially for anyone lookingat connections in one particular game, it saves reading through it all every time.

And yes, it took quite a while to put together with the coding.

PS - I missed a couple of colours, but they're fixed now. :D

Definately most helpful. I wish some of the rabid theorists around here would put in as much research, or at least look into threads already posted like this...

That's a good guide you've made I like it. I tried making one of those geneology charts family tree type things for the Silent Hill character connections and it turned out being really confusing.

The seal of metatron was also in Silent Hill 3 also wasn't it? It's been a while since I have played 3 so I could be completly wrong. (You got some kinda seal after you beat Leonard Wolf)

All hail Naomi, the Vixx wannabe. Hail right now dammit! :P

Very nice organization, easy to understand-which is just as important as the information itself. For SH4, the photo in which Harry mentions James disappearing a few years ago in Silent Hill was in the living room, not his bedroom. That's it, everything else looked good.

I understand Alessa, Dahlia, and Incubus but what does rezila mean?

This is going to be really lame of me-but I never really got the connection of Heather. I mean, I knew she was the little girl that Harry raises. But I wondered-is she Alessa...or Cheryl? Turns out she's both...and that, in Silent Hill way, makes sense.

(Also, I dig Naomi's profile pic...hahaha, Dahlia looks hawt! )
