Just a random thought.

When the sirens are going and all the townspeople are running to the church for safety, seems a bit strange to me.

So everytime the sirens go they leave wherever they are to run to the church, then when it's over go back again, and so on?

Surely not? Why don't they just stay in the church. The darkness comes too often for them to warrent leaving to go to their homes or whatever.

Yes, I'm bored. Lol.

Because they have to go search for food, (shown by what anna was doing) and also the miners do search around the town (probably looking for signs of monsters/life) so that definately seems to have some importantance.

That's my take on it anyway

But surely they all wouldn't go out? They'd just send a certain number? After all, there are creatures still about even in the foggy...ness. :)

You try being cooped up in a single house/church for a long period of time. They'd get cabin fever and start losing control.

Oo, I haven't watched the movie in a while.
I should go watch it now!

But I think the reason for them running to the church every time the siren goes off is because of Pyramid Head. You see what he did to that lady on the steps? Lmao! I'd be scared to death of him. And for some reason, I guess the church is kind of like a block and PH can't get into there. The only safe area for them.

For them living in the church, I don't think they would do that.
They have things to do and food to find and maybe kids to look after and stuff like that, so they can't just stay there. It seems safer but I don't think so.

They don't all always leave. Christabella seems to never leave save for the one time to escort Rose and Cybil. At the most, the congregation probably take shifts.

When the siren starts to go off, the other cultists show up pretty damn quick, suggesting they were never that far from the church to begin with. Most likely, they leave the church during the foggy world times, but never go too far, so they can always be back to the church before the darkness falls.

Well, everytime the siren goes off, it tells them that "the darkness is coming" and that means the monsters will come out and they would get killed. I don't really know how they programed that siren to go off though, or even know when it would. Kinda weird. They have time to roam around until is happens again. I wonder how many times it happens for them. I also don't get how the prayer Christabella did made it go back to normal. The church is their protection from Alessa darkness. Like when Dark Alessa says, "Their blind conviction repels me from their church. I can not enter while they deny their fate, but you can"

Yeah, I can just imagine one of them with a big crank winding the alarm lol.

I don't think Christabellas praying made the darkness go away though.

Well it seemed to go away right after they did it, that's why. The darkness seems to never have the same time it lasts every time it happens. It's always different where she goes it seems. Maybe that is meant to mean something. The longer she's in the darkness world, the more pain it had for Alessa. I really don't know, I'm just saying things that come to mind.

I suppose it's all according to her mood.

Because if it did last the same amount of time each time, they wouldn't need the siren as much, as they'd all be able to pin point exactly how long it lasted.

The darkness lifts when Dark Alessa/Alessa wants it to lift.
For example:
*It lifts just as Rose is being overwhelmed by the Grey Children
*It lifts just as Rose is at the mercy of PH
*It lifts just as the last cult member (Anna) is killed
Christabella's prayer has nothing to do with the darkness.

She lifts it in order to encourage them to get out. If she keeps the darkness on, they're not leaving that church.
