Just a thought... Since Roger Avary is apparently still doing the script, do you think he'll be inspired by his experience with the car crash, his grief, his jail time, his guilt? I know it's dark, but perhaps that's what one needs to write a Silent Hill?

That’s a great point and with his circumstances he should be able to deliver an edge over any other director at this moment in time. But Knowing how the beginning of all great ideas start, there is more of a gap that needs to be cleared before we know for sure.

I'm hoping he's spent the time reflecting on how to write better dialogue.

Hah! Agreed.

Pretty sure he'll include some form of it. Might be interesting...Maybe.

There's no question that it will aid him in dark thoughts thats for sure. Lots of time to do nothing but write and re-write between walls.

Funny if he based it on himself - the guilty shall be called! Second thought, its not that funny.

I'm now reflecting on the original Resident Evil's commentary, in which Milla Jovovich points out that most writers want to write "twisted versions of their life stories" instead of good movies.

Hmmm....It seems difficult to write a Silent Hill without some hatred in your heart. Suffering promotes strength. I like this idea.

I'm hoping he spent the time reflecting on how not to kill people.

Interesting thought... I guess a lot of people here would respond with a 'and Resident Evil is good writing?', but personally I love the Resident Evil movie series for all of it's 'Saturday morning cartoon' thrills and fun.
