Did anyone else notice this?

Post by VenusDoom »

Remember how it's mentioned that a psycho dropped a kid in a shaft or something in Silent Hill before the movie took place and Cybil saved him or something? Did anyone else think it might be Walter attempting one of the 21 sacraments? Just my theory, if this thread's pointless feel free to close this. I've mentioned this theory on several threads before,

I love the Silent Hill Series. The games: Homecoming, Origins, and Shattered Memories, did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. Just because they were not by Team Silent doesn't mean that they're bad games. I believe in this series. I believe that one day, we can have a game that will make all Silent Hill fans Happy. I believe that Silent Hill Downpour can achieve this.
Team Silent may be gone, but their series isn't. Instead... it's here, it's alive.

If you agree, add it to your sig.

None of Walter's victims were dropped in shafts.

And Harry didn't have ta-ta's and a cell phone. The movie could change that easily. And Vincent wasn't in his early to mid 20's >_>. Again, an adaption of SH4 would change alotta shiz, Id love to find out who that psycho was just cuz.

Wait, you're suggesting that the movie continuity has its own Walter Sullivan and this might be a reference?

I'd still say no. His name would have been dropped if it was intended to reference him, or at the very least, more details would have been mentioned to make the connection clear. The movie goes out of its way to reference little details from the games (even if it alters their meaning to suit its own purposes). The fact that Walter's a psychopath is the only thing he has in common with this other psychopath.

Well, they crow barred PH in there so who's to say they didn't steal another idea from a SH game?

The idea of a psycho dropping a kid in a mineshaft is not found in any of the games, so it is not possible for the scriptwriter to have 'stolen' it from the games. The person in the movie is not implied to be a serial murderer, and the act of that person has nothing to do with any of the methods Walter employs.

The only connection is their description as psychos, and that isn't a real connection at all.

But its possible that it was a reference....them not mentioning Walter by name could have just been something dropped during editing...who knows...I mean really, its not like they did a good job telling the story in the movie anyway...

It's possible that the kid dropped in the shaft was Laura, because it was a kid and Laura's a kid, and how many kids could possibly ever exist in the Silent Hill universe? Maybe Walter's dropping HIMSELF AS A KID DOWN THE MINE SHAFT OMG THEORY.

For Christ's sake, they took a guy mentioned in an obscure memo and turned him into a full character (Gucci). If this was supposed to be Walter, it would have been made plain. It's wasn't. It's not a reference to him.

Maybe in Revelation they will have Leonard be that 'psycho.' After all, he's been in a mental institution 'most of his life.'

Or they will completely ignore that little tidbit from the first film...I think Bassett has enough on his plate making the third games story work with the first movies plot to throw us a bone about that...

It could just as well be Leonard, or anyone. That whole town is psycho save for (ironically) Dahlia and Alessa. Anyway, point being, I'd love to see this expanded upon in future films. I kinda liked the way Cybil was portrayed and love to see her in a flashback. She was portrayed more realistically than the games imo.

They could ignore that tidbit. I really don't care. I'm just stating, if they are to use it in this film, it's most likely that the psycho is going to be Leonard. It's not that of an important tidbit, anyway, though.

Yeah..if it is mentioned, wouldn't surprise me if it was Leonard, although it would be a cool way to throw in a Walter reference...By the way, Nice Aerith blog.

The room being turned into a movie would be a great idea. Maybe even as a stand alone movie, like the room was originally going to be. It would be interesting viewing, the ghosts, the holes etc. On track to what the original poster posted, in theory it could be any random stuff put in to make the background of the movie seem more interesting.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if it was a reference to Walter or Leonard. Anything is possible. :)
Just put the gun to their head then...Pow!

Wrong.

Also wrong, though I have no movie poster with which to illustrate the point.
