Centralia had nothing to do with the Team Silent games

Yeah, I know. This is one of those universally understood things that should have gone without saying with a little common sense. But just in case there are people out there who still adhere to this false idea that Centralia in any way influenced any of the Team Silent games, there you go. It's right there for future reference.

Because apparently there are still people who believe this crap judging from GameFAQs.

Who the hell takes GameFAQs seriously?

Dude, it's not just GameFAQs that's the problem. It's the Silent Hill fandom as a whole. There are always going to be people with bizarre theories/claims that pop out of the woodwork and I see them come up here every so often as well. So I felt posting this would be a benefit in case of further stupidity later down the road relating to this subject.

I know. Maybe we should make this thread the place for all of Ito's replies.

I never really thought of this as a hot-button issue. The movie clearly draws some inspiration from the place and the games clearly don't. I've seen people believe otherwise, but never to the point where they are insistent upon it. It's pretty harmless as far as misinformation goes.

I am on board with the idea of making this the official catch-all thread for communication between the raging hordes and Mr. Ito. It's ultimately up to you, Augo.

Now that you mention it the board could use some general "Ito says this or that" topic just for the sake of having it all in one place for ease of use.
