well...the article DID mention a re-release, though.

Good read, though somewhat spoiler-ish at times.

I wonder, though, what's this other game he was talking about. Hmmm... could be Xenogears, maybe? Shin Megami Tensei? Ahhh, I'd really like to know.

If you're going to discuss a remake of Silent Hill 1, do so here.

So Gans was asked to do another game series into film.

When I read it, I jumped inside and thought "METAL GEAR?!" but then later read it to not be a Konami game.

Ok, and is it just me, or does Gans seem to be repeating himself in interviews and articles and in his blog?

maybe a bit. But I'd be more alarmed if he'd contradict himself all the time
as long as he's repeating the good stuff, we can hope it's true ^^.

There's another famous game series that comes to mind... two, even. Fatal Frame would match the genre... but "popular" really kind of makes You think of Final Fantasy.

Now that'd be nuts ^___^

They can't make a film of Final Fantasy with real people, surely? What with Spirits Within and Advent Children, surely CGI is the only way to go?

Fatal Frame has been mentioned in lots of places, which would be nice. Only played the first one properly and it scared the bejesus out of me. Shit puzzles though

As casuallydressed said, it probably won't be Final Fantasy. I really should play Fatal Frame one of these days.

I certainly doubt it would Xenogears considering how damn complex that game's storyline is.

Anyone else think he might be talking about SIREN?... AKA Forbidden Siren...

Very Japanese, and I read the rights for a movie were sold recently to Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but they talk of Jodelle playing three characters. Of course two are Sharron & Alessa (unless they changed her name)...but does anyone know of the third?

Not sure myself. It might be the good Sharon, a good Alessa and a demon-possessed version of herself.

I like how it's going to be rated-R and the fact that Tristar was actually excited about seeing it. I definitely can't wait till it comes out!

Sharon

Ghost of Alessa

Demon/posessed Alessa

At least that's what I think he means.

I don't think she will meet her death. I seem to recall that this is not an altered first silent hill but more of a prequal. If she dies here, who will be in silent hill to help you out?

We had a theory here a while back that it was a prequel. This is pretty much confirmed to be wrong. The film is another take on the story of SH1.
