In all fairness...

I thought the scene with Rose wandering throught the back alley (the first time we see the Otherworld in the film, with all the Gray Children) was done quite well. I thought the guy on the fence was cool, and I love that "Black Fairy" was playing, as it is one of my favorite SSilnet Hill songs. I also thought it was cool the way the camera tried to mimic the camera movements in the game.
All in all, I liked all of the Otherworld scenes, and was saddened that the film didn't have more of them.

The burning of Cybil was fantasticly unexpected. I actually thought that Rose would show up at the last second and save her.

I wonder if Cybil dying and the movie having a 'bad' ending was intentional.

I also enjoyed the alleyway scene with Rose and the correct camera angles. The streets cutoff the way they were was done correctly and found upon unexpectedly. The bathroom wall scene was excellent. Away from correlating to the games, the ending credits were very creative.

The only thing I wanted to see that i didn't
1. Pyramid head should have cut some cultist motherfuckers up with Alessa's barbed wire. I do understand though that PH was another poor sould that fucked with her and got what he deserved and that Alessa wanted the revenge all to herself. But still, it would have been cool to see him do it.

The movie really made me worry about their not being a sequel because they used almost all of the music and locations in the game. The hotel, school, orphanage, alleyway, church, hospital. Uhg... but hearing all this talk about a sequel, I'm sure I'll be fine.

I just finished watching the movie for the first time. What a waste of time. I wasn´t I surprised when I thought the movie would suck?

Mmm... Things I liked... Well, the sets and SFX were great actually. And the death scenes were good too even if pointless and stupid.

I can already see the sequel... Rose writing letters for that prickthatIforgotthenamebutappearsinthelordoftherings to search for her in Silent Hill...
Cheer brilliance.

Oi! Don't call Sean Bean a prick you fucking whore. Casting him in a Silent Hill movie was brilliant, he has that SH protagonist nice guy face. Too bad they didn't use it though. And good idea about the sequel!
well, let's hope they take the time to tell a proper story IF they adapt SH2. imagine rushing through laura's scenes and dropping eddie altogether, just so there's more action when james fights a nurse.
Yeah, afterall, Laura was everyone's favorite character. I doubt that they would drop anything to make room for more action, on the contrary, the problem is coming up with new substance to replace the excessive amounts of hitting the patient demons in the head with a wooden plank in the game.

Too bad that they already used much of the great music from SH2 and Pyramid Head in the SH movie. Well, nevermind, they probably won't gonna make it anyhow.
I can't believe i earned 10 Silent Hill cash for this.

And can you explain please, why was he such a big add? Nobody in that movie can act. NOBODY. He´s no exception, he´s very far from being a good actor and this role didn´t helped. Spending more than 45 mins of the movie saying "Rose? ROSE? Where are you? Shit... that town is haunted! Don´t go in there."

Monsters were cool (just a pity they had so much little time on screen because they were really nice  )

The design of the town (kudos to Dan Laustsen and Carol Spier)

That's about it. Oh... the music but that ain't saying much I guess.

EXACTLY! God, people!

I thought nearly everything was done well, but here are some specifics:

- the music made me very happy to hear
- the transformation when the darkness came, which isn't something you get to witness in the games, was very well done
-the alley scene with the lighter
- the character of Cybil overall really pleased me
- when Rose walked into a room, at the angle you first observe, it looks almost exactly like the reception area of Midwich elementary school
- Pyramid Head, though obviously changed was very nice. Would have liked to see more of him.
- the streets' cliff-like endings
- Rose's and Cybil's monster encounter

What the movie did well? Hire Patrick Tatopoulus Designs. He did a great job with the other ones he worked on, and He didnt falter here either. (Either He or his team, whatever)

Everything visual was nice...that's it. I can't give them credit for using soundtracks that already existed, so yeah...the CGI stuff was nice and it all ends there.

The monsters, Silent Hill, Otherworld, Special Effects... to be short, everything was perfect.

Sean Bean is an ok actor and a lot of the actors in the film are talented - but they were given a horrible script that made them all seem terrible.
