Sharon/Alessa.

Ferland did an amazing job.

Dahlia is a close second.

I didn't mind his accent.

I found myself having a lot of sympathy for Dahlia, which was surprising as I kept expecting her to emerge as the true mastermind behind everything.

I voted Cybil. She was great. After her is Rose, then Sharon/Alessa, Dahlia.. and that about wraps it up.

I was very suprised and pleased with Laurie Holden. Radha did great aswell, but I kept hearing her accent trying to sneak out. I was a little scared cause I'd never seen Laurie Holden in anything else... But, I was pretty floored from her reaction from meeting Pyramid Head. "What the fuck? Did you see that?"

Laurie Holden's Cybil, hands down. She's a good character actress, though I couldn't help but notice the cussing doesn't come quite so naturally to her. The f-bombs were occasionally dropped a bit cautiously, but other than that - yeah, she did the best job, and from the interviews, it's obvious she was extremely enthusiastic about the role and very eager to please the fans. I did notice her accent/drawl dropping occasionally, but it wasn't that bad, or that noticeable compared to Sean & Radha falling into British & Australian accents, respectively.

She was given the worst to work with and she did a fine, fine job with it, turning a potentially comic character (f-bombs, and her final scene needed serious talent to pull through belieavably) into a fleshed out, real person. A human being, not a stereotypical cop. She has good expressive mannerisms that many, many actresses lack, and she portrayed a variety of emotions without saying a thing, at points.

Kudos, Laurie Holden!

(I mean this both because it was sad, and literally... Those graphics could have been better. Should have, imo, left well enough alone and had her burn without showing it.. Same for the fire on the Demon's sleeves). I digress. Second would be Rose. Cybil just did an amazing job. Her character was well written straying from "Have you got a gun/know who you;re shooting/don't go shooting me by mistake/etc" with her still trying to arrest rose without knowing what was going on. She was written (despite what that fat fuck Ebert had to say, and that ass on yahoo) very realistically imho.
I'm wondering what reality you come from now. You live in a reality that, as a police officer, you dress like a strip-o-gram, chase a woman down for no fucking reason, and then when you both wreck in this foggy town with inexplicable ash falling from the sky - and you've got this woman screaming abou the daughter you know exists and how she's missing - you think "Whatever - I'm going to handcuff and arrest this woman - WALK back to the next fucking town while a little girl is running lost in this mysterious foggy town.

You live in a reality where after youare attacked by a hoarde of monsters, you're stupid enough to say "They used to say this town was haunted" - what? Shut up bitch, We've been almost killed by monsters more than once and here, halfway into the "nightmare" you're bringing this up? You didn't actually pass police academy did you? I mean....you bought a bike and a cheap halloween costume, didn't you? Please just tell me that the people who are supposed to protect and serve me don't do THIS shitty of a job.

Cybil was always a shit character in my opinion...but come the fuck on, this bitch is retarded!!! You people are nuts.

To Smokey: I'm starting to wonder if you even payed half attention to the movie and you're just ranting and raving to be noticed

Let see.

Cybil sees Sharon crying about something. She's not exactly sure what it is but she can tell the kid is very distressed asking "Who did this?" She sees the general direction that Rose is driving in.

Cut back x years (I forget how long ago it happened). Cybil rescues a child in Silent Hill that a parent abandoned and threw down a well(mineshaft?) Any self respecting officer would feel this child's pain, and when seeing what could be a similar offence brewing would be more than inclined to stop it. (Reason #1 for chasing, handcuffing and arresting this woman)

And remember, Chris had cut off Rose's credit card, so there is a good chance that he had called the police claiming that his Car was stolen in order to get Rose back. Cybil writes down the plate and, as probably any other cop does, calls it into the station, finds that it's been reported stolen and goes to pull over Rose. (Reason #2 for chasin, handcuffing and arresting this woman)

Upon being pulled over Rose then RUNS AWAY from the cop. Well in "our little fantasy worlds" running from the law can be a crime inandofitself (Reason #3 for chasing, handcuffing, and arresting this woman)

They wreck, are in town (which as far asCybil knows is just completely abandoned, plausibly safe). Cybil even says "we are walking back to the station and we will have people out to look for your daughter." Why? Well they can't take Roses car, it wont start, they can't exactly fit on the wrecked bike, and the Radio couldn't get through to the station.

Do I really need to explain any more? Or are you just intent with hating anything and everything about this movie?

Sean Bean's acting was great. I thought the accent was fine, I've heard worse from American natives.

You just made a shitload of assumptions that could have been elaborated on. The thing is, crying girl isn't justifiable reason to take down a liscence plate and start chasing down a car, and then pull them over. No I didn't think about the coal mine, but that makes sense. Must have over looked it while holding my head in sheer agony over the rediculously campy, unnatural dialogue of this brilliant character.

See, it totally makes sense when you bring up the fact that Chris reported the car stolen...only he didn't...you're assuming he did. Little things like that aren't things that should be ommited. Those are the things that if you aren't told - you assume they didn't happen despite what could have. Another reason the movie sucks - the only things it leaves to imagination are trivial plotholes like that.

Completely abandoned and plausibly safe doesn't change the fact that there's an unnatural fog beneath falling ash with no source. That's fucking weird and any moron would look at that and say...this is fucking weird...maybe I should listen to the crazy filthy lady who looks like she's just been attacked by monsters. "I'm gonna arrest you now" may have come into play at some point, but not before a whole shitload of questions and a sense that this chick is smart enough to realize somethings wrong...and has priorities straight enough to go after that little girl.

So can you explain more? Yes! Explain to me, if Cybil has such a sympathetic ear for the child, thinking this is another parental abuse situation...why is she leaving the child alone in an abandoned town? Hnad cuff the bitch to her car and go find that kid...ya think? No - we'll just leave this innocent little girl to rot for a few hours while we take a nice walk back to town. Nice.

You did explain a few things, so I can take those few things back and respect what you said. But the performance was typically B movie and the character was typically B movie. Tough chick cop who softens up in the end, overacts, waves a gun around, dresses like she's on her way to a bachelor party...and then melts. She wasn't the worse...I guess...but man, none of them were any good, so sure...we'll say it was the best performance...whatever. Suck is suck.
If you can read this, I'll kill you.

An actor as a kid, Sharron/Alessa did a pretty good job.

And credits to DAHLIA also.

Tie between Rose, Cybil and Dahlia.

Rose was overall good for the whole movie, but her speach at the end of the movie to all the church people won me over.

Cybil was pretty good and thankfully got a great hero-scene in before she was roasted.

Whenever Dahlia was around she stole the scene. I loved her acting and the way she talked. Strange how I don't mind Dahlia's change of character *from antagonist to person who'd I'd hug if she got a bath or something*.

A runner up would be Christibella. I liked her menecing presence.

That's how some movies work .. I personally think what Reigner said makes a lot of sense and this
is exactly what I thought during the movie ..

I'm a cop I see a child freaking out .. a mother who somewhat is evasive
when I ask her if everything is ok .. the woman leaves the stores .. the cards don't work ..
so I take the number call the station .. station tells me there's something wrong
with that car .. I go after it .. stop the car .. car just speeds off .. I chase it ..
bump my head on the way .. regain consciousness .. the crazy lady is there again .. only the kid has disapeared ..

very simimlar to a previous case I experienced .. I arrest her for the possible kidnapping
and since both vehicules are not in working order I'll leave on foot to the nearest station .. why?

because risking loking for that girl might get me in places where this freak I just arrested could try to attack me .. especially if she has accomplices..

I don't know .. to me it all made sense ..

unless you're not too much into imaginating stuff..
