I can't believe I haven't posted in this one yet.
Well I have to say Laurie Holden as Cybil does an amazing job. Cybil has always been my favorite character in all the games, (maybe it's because I want to be a cop myslef.) Laurie has quite a range in talent and I don't know if anyone could of pulled of the roll of Cybil better than she did.
Radha Mitchell is just a tiny bit behind Laurie/Cybil. I thought she did a great job, again Radha has some great talent. This was the first thing I saw her in and now I'm finding some of her other movies and it just reminds me how well she can pull of the role of Rose. It can be quite hard to have a bond between a movie mom and her child, that is totally believeable to the people who watch the movie. Radha does an excelent job at this. She has total character growth and she makes that transition very subtle so you don't really notice it until the end.
And I can't forget Jodelle Ferland. She is an amazing young actress and for her to pull of three characters, is quite impressive. I think she does great. I know that some people are a little annoyed with her acting but I think she does a great job at making us believe just how young children can be annoying. Also she has remined me just how scary some little kids can be.

I can't tell you to remember me, but I can't bear you to forget me.

The only thing I hated about Jodelle's acting.. well it's really a part in in the movie where she's sleep walking and then starts screaming HOME, HOME, SILENT HILL!! I was like oh God!!

I think Gucci (Coates) did a terrific job, but I think Dahlia (Kara Unger) stole every scene. She was amazing. With Gucci, however, I seriously hope he's in the sequel. I really do.

...if not, I'll be pissed.

Sharon/Alessa is one hell of a child actress. And to be able to take on 3 different roles. Holy...

Christopher (Bean) was great. If he used his English accent, it just wouldn't fit. Although, here and there I could hear it trying to sneak out.

Lest we not forget Cybil (Holden) and Rose (Mitchell). I could not picture anyone else playing the role of Cybil. Let's face it, it just wouldn't be right...

And I loved Rose. She was terrific, too.

OVERALL:

Sorry Cybil, I'm afraid the award for Best Actress goes to DAHLIA. :P

And the award for Best Actor: GUCCI

(At least that's the way I see it...)

im gonna have to say that alice krige (christabella) wins my "best performance" award...she just blew me away with the way she spoke to her beliefs with such emotion, and really pulled off the dedicated, wickedly righteous bitch persona greatly.

SHE ROCKED IT!!

To Gucci here as well, the rest??........ I didn't like Cybil's hair in the movie, that just turned me off to her character

Dahlia.

I was already a big fan of Deborah Kara Unger; and she just stole the show when she was there. I wish they had given her a bit more screentime. My second has to be Jodelle Ferland; has to be the only child actress I for one found cute, and didn't give me the urge to commit mass-murder. Her performance as Dark Alessa really threw me; I thought she was great.

I said Sharon/Alessa. She's so young to be doing a demonic/evil-demon role yet she pulled it off nicely.
I get the feeling that I'm the only one who thinks the, "Meow meow," scene was cute...

I thought it was cute, too, and I also thought, 'Crap, she does what I do.' I don't know why I do it.

I think Jodelle was great in the movie. She was able to do much, and I don't think many child actors could pull off such a task.

Anna was, by far, the worst character of all. Her acting was horrible, and so were her lines.

I thought the young actress that played Alessa did a wonderful job. Her as The Reaper was quite convincing. I thought she was kickass.

Oh... hmm... in terms of acting, Christabella was by far the best.
It's easy to say the kid did the best job, but she overacted all the time.

Christabella is my vote, because she is the only one that actually feels natural in her role. All others overact and have a hard time delivering a realistic behaviour.

Christopher was great, even though I'm usually not that fond of Bean.
His role wasn't as hard as Rose's though, in my opinion.

NOT Sharon! She could play a satan-spawn decntly, somehow, but couldn't play an ACTUAL little girl, case in point the way she freaked out about the pictures in her drawing book at the gas station. Cybil was acted pretty well, but I voted Christabella.

I voted for Christabella... she is the only one that really acts out her role in this movie.

Cybil. I havent played SH1, but even still, Cybil has become one of my favorite SH characters because of this movie. She was like Rose's knight in shining (Leather?) armor, and that on top of the way her actor did her justice and was able to have her seem somewhat scared, but tying to keep everything going really made me cling to her like a rabid PH fangirl. When she died, it was one of the only times in a horror movie that I cried. >_>

If we were seeing the movie together, I think we'd be crying buckets after buckets of tears over her death scene.... :( *hands you some tissue*

Well, the option on the poll said "VOTE ONLY FOR ONE!! AHAHHA!" so I cannot vote for Christabella.

While I may not favour Christabella's the character herself - I am amazed at how well the actress was able to carry out Christabella's role in the movie and for that, I applaude her ^_^

Officer Gucci on the other hand.........hmm......he's not at all popular I guess?

Officer Gucci was well acted too... I think that Sharon/Alessa and Rose did worst actually. It's pretty bad if the main characters has the worst performance.
It's like "The Matrix", where the best performance is made by Laurence Fishburn, Gloria Foster and Hugo Weaving... not Keanu Reaves, who is the worst in the movie.
