I enjoyed the movie, so lets get that out of the way so it doesnt sound like I'm bashing it or anything... But I gotta say, i was a little offtaken by the route the movie chose.

I was going in hoping I hope this just isnt a bloodfest and the story is the most important thing, not the monsters... . And I got that, but I think there absolutely wasnt enough of the Dark World.

I was kinda hoping for a 70 percent story/30 percent horror... instead I got, like 85 percent story and 15 percent horror. Each time they were in the dark world, I was zoned in. It felt perfect. But then it was all of a sudden back to the foggy world. It felt like 20 minutes light world, 3 minutes dark, 30 minutes dark world, 2 minutes dark, 45 minutes light world, 5 minutes dark, and then, in a twist I definitely wasnt expecting, the climax of the film was in the light world.

I dunno... Just to be clear, i dont feel let down by the movie. I loved it. But I guess I just didnt get my fill of rust and morbid settings.

Anyone else agree?

I wonder if the director thought the audience would need periodic breaks. I know when I play the games, I get way too tense if I go too long without being able to take a breath, so to speak.

I did crave more of Alternate SH, but I think that what they did was good. Durring the movie, I was trying to see the everything as a non-sh fan would, and I was a little confused. The Alternate SH made everything worse once you were already confused and less confusion is always good. I hope that makes sense.

Of course I am going to want more of the dark realm.
The dark realm as portrayed by Gans was fucking beautiful.
I was captivated! Stunned at it's beauty so yes there were times
where I found myself saying," Oh..... just a little more''. They were
short scenes but who cares. The movie in whole was unexpectedly
good so thus I salute Gans in his amazing movie making abilities.

They had to break it up...we cant have two hours of Rose finding keys and clues in worn-down office buildings...I liked seeing the contrast to the real world...found it especially spooky when Gucci mentions having found Cybil and Rose's vehicles abandoned. They are not in the foggy world either...they're just a reflection.

same with me. i tought it started and then seems to end to soon. like in the game u spend ages in the other world. atleast a little under half the game. in this it was like quarter of the film if that. although they were good. should be more other world. maybe he'l do that if he maes a sequal

I'm really hoping so.. I kinda wanted to see the film like this.

-15 minutes normal world
-15 minutes foggy world
-5 minutes dark world
-20 minutes foggy
-10 minutes dark
-15 minutes foggy
-rest of film dark

I think that wouldda been the perfect balance. Cuz in a 120 minute movie that would leave another 45 minutes of just plain, brutal darkness. It would make the audience leave with that "wow, i'm glad i'm out of here" feeling. In the good way, of couse :)

Honestly, I did feel there wasnt enough of the otherworld. Because a great amount of the game is played in that (esp in the end) I would liked to see more of it. And yes I understand that the movie =not= game. However, I was getting a bit tired of the fog.
