there's a part near the beginning when rose is running for a while and she stops to catch her breath. remind me of in the games when you run for a bit and when you stop, you're breathing heavy and then recover.

That green truck on the side of the road at the beginning as well, straight from SH1 once Harry gets out of the car and starts running.

If you notice, a lot of the stuff laying around on the street was copied verbatim from the games.

Also I nodded when Rose took the piece from the janitor's mouth. Because things like that are a usual scare tactic in the games. I knew nothing was going to happen but I gave it a nod when I saw that she had to take something out of his mouth. I nodded at all the music. In fact, I tapped my foot to everything. I actually stayed and watched the credits because I love the music so much.

I also nodded when I heard the song they played at the gas station. I want to say it's "You're Not Here." But I'm not sure. I'd have to see it again.

The music that played in the diner was Waiting For You. Just got back from my second viewing.

The body bag in the alleyway. As a SH veteran, I knew nothing was going to pop out of it, but still, scary. :P

Also, it just occurred to me that when the janitor touches the wall and it turns all fleshy, it's similar to the burned/bloody/meaty walls of the one hospital floor in SH3. There was also a similar effect on the walls in the Apartment World in SH4.

I can't believe no has said this. The miners are all carrying steal pipes in some of the scenes and their exactly how they should be with the curved end and all.

When Rose takes the knife from Anna and says "I'm keeping this", it's very similar to James taking the knife from Angela in SH2 (I think he also says "I'll keep this"), and I think Anna = Angela in the movie (she had the same annoying mannerisms, at least).
"What are you doing here Anna?"

I'm surprised so few people have mentioned the wheelchair in the street near the beginning... that was great. I was disappointed that Alessa never showed up in a wheelchair though... Does anyone know what game that janitor monster was from? I haven't played SH 3 and 4.

I don't think the janitor character was ever in the games - although there was a corpse in the toilet stall that you had to retrieve something from (I think that's where you first find the shotgun, too).

Wasn't that a baby carriage? I know there was a wheelchair at some point, but I'm pretty sure that was a baby carriage at the beginning, possibly a toy one.

I always felt that some of the general statements made by some of the characters, i.e. "There must have been a fire" and such are nods to the general statements made by the characters in the games when examining your surroundings.

I have only ever plaed the first game, on account of my local shop never having the other games in stock, and my undying love for Resident Evil, but when she goes down the alley and the Darkness siren sounds for the first time. When the body is attached to that fence, pure SH1. scared the nutmeg out of me in the game, scared the nutmeg out of me in the film.

Yeah... I thought it was a baby carriage too. It's got four small wheels. A proper wheelchair has one pair of small wheels at the front and one big pair at the sides.

She passed by an overturned wheelchair in the alley. I think the wheel was spinning, I could be mistaken.

They were baby carriages in both scenes.

No, I'm pretty sure it was a wheelchair in the alley. The one that I'm 100% sure is a wheelchair is the one behind the body hanging on the fence.
