I'm not too sure if that's a lot. Is it? :P

EDIT: Okay, it is.

Why be against a sequal. If it is done well then I would love one! Sequals don't automatically suck you know. *wants one based on Restless Dreams*

Hmmmm, sequals are usually of less quality than the originals except for a few exceptions.

One notable expection was the horrific and ungodly bad Dungeons and Dragons movie. If you had seen this, you'd know the atrosity created on film. However, the sequel...while not being over great in and of itself, was FAR better than the original and is what the original should have been. Granted even the sequel wouldn't have won any awards. But it was enjoyable to watch.

Well, it IS good. But don't count on $27 mil, the estimates are almost always dead-on (or at least reasonably close).

"sequals are usually of less quality than the originals..."

Yeah, and videogame movies suck. You can't judge the future based on the past.

I can name some pretty good sequels. X2, Spider-man 2, Lethal Weapon series, T2, Original Star Wars trilogy, Rocky movies and so on

As long as the Wachowskis don't touch the sequal, I think we'll be alright.

According to www.imdb.com the budget for the movie was $50,000,000. If it's only made 20 opening weekend, then it's gonna have to sell like crazy on DVD for the studio to give decent backup for a part 2. Someone mentioned that it's a good number for an R rated horror movie, and that's true(especially nowadays). Depending on how much more money it makes(along with DVD revenue), it's in the fate of the studio as to what will happen sequel-wise.

I'm hoping they can make a decent sequel to it. I'd love to see it.

Personally i want silent hill 3 to be the story of the sequal which they will have cause Resident Evil got one and it was not as good as Silent Hill

20 million for and R movie is a great number. I hope it could pass the 50 million mark in a month. I sure know I am going to see it again and help it out. I think Resident Evil was made for 40 million and it only made 14 million on its opening weekend I think (or was it 17???) anyway, that movie was more mainstream in terms of the brand then Silent Hill in my opinion and that got a second one made, and of course I think we all know they are working on the 3rd. It will be interesting to see how the 2nd Silent Hill comes along if they make one.
