Colin didn't imprenate Alessa. The molestation and burning of Alessa took place in 1974. This movie takes place now, so that would make Sharaon 32 years old.

Once again... please remember that these observations and theories are based SOLELY on the movie, NOT the games. I'll be on the lookout for these games though... LOL!!
Annie
You should know that since it's a movie it's based mainly in reality, therefor in the real world it's impossible for a girl Alessa's age to be come impregnated. Not only that, it's impossible for a fully grown man to "rape" Alessa and have NO ONE in the school know about it.

Um... I'm pretty sure it's made clear that Alessa was at least molested by the Janitor in the bathroom. It's entirely possible to keep it a secret... who would she tell?

Anyway, as for her father... yeah, no indication of who that might be. He remains unnamed... however, I like entertaining the idea that PH is a representation of a father figure for her, like a guardian. But yeah, as for a real father, the movie doesn't provide any clues for that... nor does the game (i don't think, it's been a loooooooooong time since I played it, I'll have to pick it up again.)

Here is my guess on the father... how do most unmarried women get pregnant? they just go out and do it with a guy. it doesnt even have to be a guy in the cult. maybe she went crazy one night, went down to the bar and found some guy for a night. perhaps it was more romantic than that but that is the simplist explanation in my head

As was pointed out by several people, I goofed! LOL!! Forgot about the whole "30 years" time period.
I still stand by my thoughts on Alessa being raped by the janitor though. And for the people who don't believe that children can get pregnant at the age of ten.... there are several documented cases of young girls being pregnant at the age of ten. Here is a link to one such case...

And for those who don't believe a girl can get pregnant before her first period...

But... as was pointed out... I was wrong. :) Still a good movie though! :) LOL!!
I'm not at the point of going out to buy a game cube just for one game... but I'm seriously considering it... ;)

Leaning toward the demonic impregnation theory. The cultists come off as rather looney, but when removing the rhetoric and looking only at the facts, they are rather bang on about most everything that is happening.

While that's all disturbing and good, I don't think that makes the matter of Colin being her father anymore convincing or logically sound. Or were you just supporting your idea of a ten year old being able to get pregnant? Either way that latter part doesn't explain Sharon (just in case some people might think that for whatever reason), nor does it really cover on who helped bring Alessa into being.

Immaculate Conception, my friends?

i think alessa's dad is the demon itself in the film.. dahlia was one of the cultists, her sister christebella was a puritan... and cuz dahlia wanted a child so much she made a pact with the demon there to which christabella worried about after dahlia wouldn't name the child's dad.. so she burned her and alessa wouldn't die cuz she came from supernatural forces, aka why dahlia can't leave the dimension, and why rose won't be able to leave now either.

Not.. really. Sharon was split from Alessa. She didn't pass through her vagina - that'd just be.. I don't know what that would be.

*** As I mentioned before, I was obviously mistaken. :) I was responding to someone's comment about a 10 year old not being able to be impregnated.
Concerning Sharon's "birth" ... well... at this point, I'm sort of leaning towards a physical manifestation of Alessa's "good" side.... with more than a little "help" from her demonic friend of course. ;) Which is what I think most people here who are familiar with the games were saying in the first place.
About Alessa's parentage...
I agree with another person who suggested a "one night stand" thing. Guys aren't the only ones who get "urges" ya know! Here's a hypothesis for you....
Alessa's mom has been single for a bit too long and gets an "itch" she wants help scratching. But being "religious" she can't just go out to the local bar to hook up with someone. After all, it's a small town... folks will talk. So she heads out of town... perhaps to visit her "sister" or whatever... finds a bar somewhere and hooks up with a guy she doesn't know... or perhaps two or three guys... who knows? After a night of hot and heavy .... uh... well you guys get the idea I'm sure... she heads back to Silent Hills, not realizing she was pregnant. Unfortunately, as the months pass and she finally does realize what's going on, it might well be too late to abort the unborn child and she's stuck carrying the fetus through full term. And the rest.... as they say... is history... sort of. :)
As I mentioned before, I'm NOT familiar with the games, but I'm slowly learning more and more as I read through more posts here. :)

painful probably (tor at least what child birth is supposed to be) but they never show how she is split. split could be a metaphor for just her spirit and not a litteral budding like a fungus

It's possible, that Alessa's father was someone in power. Someone that if it came out had had a daughter with Dahlia, would have been adversely affected. It's primarily that reason that I think that Gucci was her father.

I support the theory that Alessa's birth was Immaculate in nature for a number of reasons.

1. It would make her seem an even more Christ-like figure

2. It would help explain why Dahlia couldn't tell Christabella who the father was, because there wasn't one to begin with.

3. And it would also tie Alessa even further with the supernatural (what better origins for someone with supernatural gifts than a supernatural birth).

A lot of people are using the term "immaculate conception” incorrectly here. This term is not a reference to a virginal birth. It refers to the belief that Mary was born without sin (original sin) and lived her life apart from the rest of the world entirely in the grace of God.

Not a big deal, but thought I would put that out there.

If it wasn't a big deal then why nitpick where it wasn't needed?
