Silent Hill DVD extras to total to an hour of new footage.

Post by The Hawk's Eye »

The compilation of six featurettes on the Silent Hill DVD has been titled "Path of Darkness," containing featurettes describing the design of the creatures, the choreography of the creatures, the design of the set, the casting of the film, the stunts and actors, and the origins of Silent Hill. Check the bottom of this link just past all of the credited staff/actors/actresses and you'll see the runtime of "Path of Darkness" totals to 59 minutes.

Just thought some of you might find it interesting.

Interesting.

I wag my finger at you for not simply posting this in my DVD Release Date thread. I'm losing SH Cash because of you.

I kid.

Sort of.

Well, we'll see. I know imdb isn't 100% reliable, but this seems likely.

Well, I'll believe it when I see it. It maybe true...but I would trust any other site over that one.

LackLuster is usually wrong on release dates, check the official website http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/s ... index.html and it says the DVD comes out on the 22nd, not on the 8th.

EDIT: I used the wrong url.

Just viewed the DVD and making of doc friday night. Not bad of a doc but it's the only extra on the DVD sadly. Though being a Columbia studios film (Sony pictures, w/e), I see a double-dip in the future. Though hopefully we can see an awesome 3-disc set like the French and Canadian director's cut release of Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Yah, i just bought the 3 disc brotherhood.. but a friend of mine's sister works for a video store so I got to check out the Silent Hill Dvd the other night. I had heard their waiting to release any 2 disc addition because Silent Hill has one last country to premiere in which is Australia.. i forget if it did already or not, but once australia releases it on dvd by sometime next year, is when they'll release the special edition of Silent Hill. I liked the behind scenes on silent hill, i found it rather funny, specially when their talking about casting Jodelle Ferland, and Christophe is like "What sane parents would let their daughet play a normal character in this twisted movie, but play the devil as well" I think that's the first time I've ever seen Christophe laugh in an interview or smile really, lol... that and jodelle is like.. "Oh i'd love to play the devil!" hahaha... also shout out to Deborah Kara Unger!!!! who says she visits the fan websites weekly. :) the featurette is just fun, cuz you can you tell they just had a lot of fun making it. specially if Radha Mitchell kissed the lying figure.. haha

I'm almost 100% positive we'll see a Special 2-disc director's cut of the film later on. It's customary for most movies like this to get the double-dip treatment later in their life.

^ and THAT is one of the reasons why I'm not gonna buy the DVD. If a director's cut doesn't happen then I'll just buy the regular DVD in a sale at HMV or somewhere.

I enjoyed the film, but I didn't enjoy it enough to pay £19.99 for it. If I wanna watch it anytime soon(or wanna see those special features) I'll rent it.

Looks like there's some deleated scenes on Silent Hill. Cybil was suppose to face another Lying Figure, but she used 9 bullets on a lying figure, 8 on Pyramid Head, and 1 at the church. Does each magazine only hold 9 bullets and may result that scene to be deleated?

Who knows..there could be a few reasons why they wouldn't use the scene.

Maybe it was because of time limits?
