yuck, I hadn't noticed it on my copy yet.
I was really upset when I tried the disc version.
I wish they would do PS2 ports for the PS3

Whenever I read this thread title I think to myself "Fuck, you guys have a fuckin' PS3 and use it to play PS1 disks. . . Goddammit."
Damn yet again. Just grab a PSOne or something. I bet they're like 50 bucks or less in the USA today. I'm saying to get the console because it seems that even the PSN version of the game have problems. And yeah, if you really want to play it and enjoy it without those dumb noises and bugs do that. 50 bucks isn't too much, for you americans I mean.

^ I'm sure coming across a PSOne these days is just as likely as finding a copy of SH 1, or 2,3, and 4 for that matter. So really it's not that easy.

You can easily find one at:
- Goodwill
- Garage Sale
- Pawn Shop
Online always works or if you have a used game store (not GameStop lol) they'll have one.

Did you buy it on the PS Store? I have no problems with mine. Only 10 bucks, worth the price

Why does the UK always get screwed over with the PSN. We don't have Silent Hill on it. Granted I have it on disk both original and platinum versions, and sadly I still have that annoying sound error on both versions.
But Sony, give the UK some games on PSN! Please!

ON the xbm goto settings then select game settings and pick the two options and select yes to both.
silent hill psn and disc version runs great no problems so far. Just remember to create a virtual memory card for ps 1 or 2 games.

If you're in the UK and want PSN Downloads, Create a new PS3 ID (Create a new login) and go to the PSN login. Register a new account and make the regions US. It is THAT SIMPLE.
Worked for me for my Heavy Rain Demo download.

But it's a pain in the ass if you don't have a US credit/debit card, because you can only get the PSN Cards from eBay or the like, and you can only get a minimum of $20 at a time as well. All regions should have the same titles out and at the same time, it is stupid.

I had the same problem while fighting the final boss. It was so annoying that i had to mute my tv. When i finally beat the boss, I still couldn't hear what was being said.

I find it hard to understand the problem. Silent Hill plays fine on my PS3 with no bugs and no glitches. On my sisters PS3 (which can't play PS2 games) it's bugs galore.

Bump. So what would I buy if I wanted to play SH1. I'd prefer it as close as possible to the original 90s version. (Last video game I played was on the Super Nintendo).
Has the ps3 flaw been corrected? Can one still find the original ps? And the other stuff that you need?

If you purchase/download the game from the Sony store it doesn't have that bug on the PS3. I still have the disc I bought in '99 but decided to re-purchase it (on sale for $5 at the time) so I could replay it without that obnoxious noise.

Thanks for info! Anyway, i think that playing Silent Hill One on original PlayStation and CRT TV is still the best experience.

Well one thing's right, I'm convinced I bought the last CRT TV off the line in 2006.
