So I was listening to the Silent Hill Theme, and I noticed something I haven't before.

Around 2:22 in the full version of the song, I heard a women who sounded as if she was gasping. I don't know if it was just the rip that I got, being it's so out of place, but I was wondering if anyone else as heard this. If so, why is it in the track and who would be making the sound?

It's Lisa. The original soundtrack version has it; the in-game version does not.

Which I find strange. Makes more sense to have it in game versus on the OST.

^^ How do you know that it's Lisa? It doesn't sound like her...

I was actually thinking Alessa, but I see it being Lisa too.

To prove it was Lis'a gasping, if you play that version with the game, they seem to synchranise at the lisa/kaufman grap scene pretty good

^ I tried that and it sure fits but I still don't think that it sounds like Lisa.

Isn't the soundtrack version longer than the one used in the game? The musical part over which the woman gasps and cries is actually a full progression shorter in the actual intro, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, it is. That's why I said the extended version.

I've always thought it was Alessa, personally. I'm not sure why, that's just always the impression I got for whatever reason.

Same here. But yeah it could be Lisa too.

It sounds more like Lisa than Alessa to me.

Sounds mature enough to be Lisa. Also I was alone in my room late at night, with all the lights off listening to that, when the gasping came on I jumped a little.

It sounds more as if the woman is crying which leads me to believe it's Alessa, although it very well could be Lisa.

I've heard it too, the first time it caught me by surprise. But I guess I'm the only one who thought that it was Dahlia, lol. Because in the intro she turns around all freaked out and like she's gasping so I just associated it with that scene.

Hmm, glad I found this thread. I'd always assumed it was Alessa. Thanks for clearing that up for me, Thomas.

Does anyone actually have proof that it is Lisa? I doubt it... Isn't it possible that it's just a random sound effect to enhance the mood? Just a thought.. :)
