Finally, after such a long wait and many visits to pawn shops, I have turned to eBay and gotten a copy of Silent Hill for twelve bucks. I've been waiting a long time for this, so here's to hoping it works.

P.S. This is pretty much just a praise topic, so if it's uneeded, get rid of it. :P

I see copies all the time. I have to practically push them out of my way.

I guess I live in a special place.

Amazon.com sells the original and Greatest Hits versions used and new never been opened. It costs a little more money.

Congratulations! Have fun with Silent Hill, man. True, in some places it is hard to find. Don't let your copy go!

You'll be better off with Amazon or Amazon marketplace sellers (I'm in the UK so they might be called something else). It'll be extra money, but at least you can guarantee it'll work.

The thing is, I don't have a credit card. I get my neighbour to buy it for me, then I pay her back. My folks don't want an eBay account just yet, but I've been pushing the idea for a while.

Good luck with the hard mode and don't soil your pants at the school, or the hospital, or the sewers... Well, just try to keep yourself clean...

Um...

Do you have EB Games or GameStop near you? Occasionally you can find it there.

What price did the auction end at?

I got mine for $4 at a Flea Market, so...you never know where it'll pop up. Keep your eyes open.

That reminds me - I'm going to have to get a back up copy of SH1. Do you realise how devastated I'd be if something happened to it and I couldn't find another one?!?

I got mine on eBay and then I guess a month or so back I put my Sh1 disk in my Sh2 case and lost them both in my black hole of a room. *sweatdrop*

Well, at least I beat the game before it was lost and gone forever.

.. Is it really that hard to find?
Two years ago my brother got it for my birthday, Greatest Hits version, never opened, for ten bucks. I think it was at EB Games.

Open question: do video game stores order games for customers, the way bookstores do with books? Because you could probably ask them and I'm sure they'd comply, if they do those sort of things.

If it's still in print, probably. It's just that I don't think SH1 is.
