The Wheel chair!! What is all about?!
The bed thing is the one who related between Alessa, but what about the wheel chair in ALL Silent Hill we keep seeing wheel chair everywhere?
What is it all about? Can anyone tell me?

Did you not finish SH1? Alessa's in a wheelchair at the end of the game when you finally encounter her for the first time. It's symbolism. Everything in SH1 is symbolic to Alessa. The wheelchairs go with all the multitudes of hospital imagery all over the place (Nurses, gurneys, sirens, etc.)
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

Feeling of debilitation, weakness, having to be controlled by someone.
Kind of like how it must feel for the main characters in every game, you even control them like their in a wheelchair (turn left right, move forward, backwards).
Well that's what they mean to me playing these games.

I figured it was symbolism, representing a feeling of loss of control. Wheelchairs are sort of an international symbol of being paralyized, not being able to go where you want, when you want.
My theory anyway.

There seriously isn't another thread talking about this? That's madness! I claim it's hidden or some shit.B5160-R wrote:I can't believe I couldn't find a topic about this subject, but I couldn't, so...
Alessa was confined to a wheelchair after the fire, so clearly that's a big part of her nightmare. Adding to this it is something that gives the creeps to most people, so the connection to a horror game is obvious.

That was really funny according to JuriDawn's answer hehe! But anyway if i also talk about Alessa, what about the wheelchair in the SH4 in the hospital where Eileen kept, isn't that related to something about all SH? Never tell me that also Walter was sitting in a wheelchair, if you do, the answer about the Alessa thing about the wheelchair is going to be absolutely wrong.

Okay, you're completely missing everyone's point in this thread. That was really funny according to JuriDawn's answer hehe! This idea make most sense to me.Feeling of debilitation, weakness, having to be controlled by someone.

Session 9 wasn't around until the early 2000's, though, and Silent Hill 1 was released in 1999. There are legitimate references to Session 9 in SH3 and SH0.
I've heard that it's a reference to the George C. Scott movie The Changeling. I actually just got a copy; I'll post back once I've watched it.
