The Sound in the playground from the school!!

Might've been to add to the tension that Harry is about to enter the Otherworld. Although there probably is a deeper meaning behind it, since there usually is in Silent Hill...

I always thought of it as gunshots. Kauffmann had a gun, right? I don't know, I guess I just always thought it was gunshots.

I remember hearing that music while I was playing, it always made me feel very uncomfortable and just made me wanna get the hell out of that area as soon as possible...

That was just a possessed doctor knocking on the door. When Harry leaves the room, he's there and he tries to kill him. That noise did scare me though.
