Alessa's iconic outfit
Watching the movie, it shows that her blue uniform(?) is her school clothing.
But in the game, does her outfit have any relevance to that?
Or does it simply look like that just for the hell of it?

I think that's just how Dahlia dressed her. She does after all have a clear Pilgrim influence in her own wardrobe. She probably preferred for Alessa to look about the same way.

Yes, clearly Dahlia's choice of clothing for her daughter was THE thing that makes her a bad mother.Alessandro wrote:But unless Dahlia was that bad of a Mommy to never buy her clothes,
there's no reason to have her dressed like that.

At the end of the game in Alessa's room you see her school uniform hung up near her closet or something.
I guess that is why in the movie they used that dress as the uniform since it might've looked like one.
I also liked Dahlia's cool tie that she wears. But she really should buy herself some shoes.

The movie assumes it's a school uniform. However, we can't make that distinction easily in the game because, 1) we don't see what any other Midwich student is wearing, and 2) we don't know whether Midwich is a public or private elementary school... if it's public, the chances of it being a school uniform drop dramatically (though not completely).

We can probably assume it was private. Most schools in Japan are private and all of them require some sort of uniform. Even though the game wasn't based in Japan, it was still Japanese creators, so they went w/ what they knew. And in a lot of smaller towns, they have private church run schools, because it is harder to run a public school in a small town than in a larger town.Kenji wrote:The movie assumes it's a school uniform. >i know lots of people that hang around in their scool uniform after school.
I really can't get an image of Alessa "hanging around" after school in my head. . .
The outfit, however, isn't necessarily a school uniform. Considering the theme of the game, the outfit is a common clothing sed in horror and goth culture. For example; Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family sed to wear a similar, macabre gothic dress.

I assumed it was simply a school uniform due to other students wearing simular clothes.
I love the Silent Hill Series. The Games: Homecoming, Origins, and Shattered Memories, did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. Just because they were not by Team Silent doesn't mean that they're bad games. I believe in this series. I Believe that one day, we can have a game that will make all Silent Hill fans Happy. I believe that Silent Hill 8 can achieve this.
Team Silent may be gone, but their Series isn't. Instead... it's here, it's alive.
Put this In Your Sig If you agree :)
