Kotaku lists best and worst dads... I think they did the same thing for moms too, I can't remember if Dahlia was nominated or maybe they just clean forgot about her...

How cute. I would name Harry the best dad in any video game. If I was in his place, after the 3 or 4th Air Screamer I would have said "Fuck This!!! I'll get a new kid." and ran away screaming.

Don't bring movie-bashing in here. Rose was a great character considering her circumstances, and a mother character was required for storyline themes that the game didn't have.

But yeah Harry totally deserves it.

Dahlia is so bad she doesn't deserve to even be on the worst list. Why? Because Harry is such an awesome dad that her existence is erased by his awesomeness!

I like Harry because I always thought he was the ideal parent...not father, but parent. He is one of my (few) male video game heros. I hope to be as good a father someday.....does that seem odd?I would most certainly risk it all for my kid...if I had one

Amen to that OverlordMikey! Harry was taking on a dual role - he had to be a father figure for Cheryl and make up for the lack of mother figure in her life, so I would agree that he was a good parent.

I think that it's great that Harry Mason received that sort of recognition - some reviews claim that Silent Hill is an aimless gore-fest. I guess those people should actually play the game...

Although, it seems like Cheryl keeps running away from him when you first start.
