Rock Drill or Chainsaw? That is the question.

Have you seen Harry's daughter anywhere? Short, dark hair?

Rock Drill or Chainsaw? That is the question.

Post by PyrmidHeadPwner »

If you watched Will It Blend? you'll understand the pun in the title, but nevertheless, I will soon be embarking upon my second playthrough to achieve the Good ending, and I have a large preferance in using melee weapons over ranged, so which one should I go for?

Thanks,

I got the rock drill (by accident) on my 2nd playtrough. But both are slow weapons, they suck. . . I vote for the Emergency Hammer all the way.

Chainsaw... You don't need to attack with this baby; you just press R, face the enemy and they will fall... Super effective against the puppet nurses and doctors...

I agree. Emergency hammer is better than both of them. However, if I had to choose just between the rock drill and chainsaw, I'd definitely go for the chainsaw. I find it a lot easier to use, especially considering you can just do what KageReneko said and get by just fine.

Yes, I agree too. I thought the Hammer was the last weapon I'd get because it was the absolute best, but then I got an axe and thought; "wow... this is a piece of crap!"

Well, it seems to me that the votes are even. I'm going for the rock drill though, see ya later!

Chainsaw > Rockdrill > Clowns. End of story right there. Opinions are so... Legendary.

Neither. The sledgehammer owns all.

Goodness, the bonus weapons melee wise both suck.

But got to love the Hyperblaster.

Rock drill, hands down. It's the only one of the two with any stopping power; enemies can walk right through the chainsaw's attack.

The chainsaw turns you into a mobile platform of extremely painful death.

The rock drill turns you into an immobile platform of moderate discomfort.

When I use the rock drill, I just have to point it at the nurses and let them walk into it. They kill themselves on the drill before they can do any damage at all. Killing the enemy without taking damage is pretty much a sure thing for me with this weapon.
When I try the same thing with the chainsaw, it works less often. Enemies tend to get a hit in before they die. I suppose I could try backing up as they walk into the blade, but that requires more room to manuver than the rock drill. Also, it could be just me, but I think that the chainsaw does less damage per second than the rock drill.
The actual attacks for both do not seem to be very useful. Letting the enemy walk into the weapon is key.
Considering that neither weapon seems to be all that useful against other enemies besides the nurses, if I had to pick one or the other, I'd go with the rock drill.
The katana is cooler and more fun than both of them, though, even if it is riskier than the rock drill.

Rock Drill definitely, the Chainsaw isn't that good I prefer the Emergency Hammer over it, also you have to let the enemies get nearer to you with the Chainsaw whereas with the Rock Drill you don't. Just let them walk into it.

I like the Rock Drill.

Though I always wondered about the name, isn't it just a jackhammer? Is jackhammer copyrighted or something?
