I have small problem. I played all SH games except Origins and Memories on my PC. Even SH1 - under PSX emulator. Some time ago I got second-hand PS2 (tray version) and I want to try SH1 on it. It is possible to run it at PS2? Or it won't work and I should play it again under emulator? PS2 is not modded, because I have original games (except SH1). IF i can not buy it anywhere... no, I will not ask if I can use burned SH1 CD in PS2 :)

No. You can only play an original/store bought PS1 disc in a PS2 (or a PS1, for that matter). Also, I think discussion of pirated games is frowned upon here.

I think it is available for purchase on the playstation network, but I don't know because I have the original PSX version of it so I didn't feel the need to buy it again.

Last sentence supposed to be a joke - edited. I want original, that's why I asked, if it will run in PS2. If I wanted to play pirated game, I would burn it and try for zero cost... :) Anyway, thanks for response!

Oh, hell. ^_^ I see now.

Anyway, if you get the original disc it should play in PS2, I used to play mine in the PS2 before my system got stolen. I think some have backward compatibility issues, or is that PS3? I don't have a ps3 so I haven't tried that, but if you play in PS2 you just need a PS1 memory card to save your games. It's been a while since I played it.

like i said, it's been a while since i played on ps2, but i'm pretty sure you have to have a ps1 memory card, yeah.

I can confirm that you do need one.

You should be able to get a copy of SH1 from amazon or ebay, cost should be moderate. And unless the disc is messed up you will be able to play it on a playstation 2 :)
@ nur_ein_tier: The backward compatibilty issues are with the ps3 :)

^And even if the disc is messed up, you can get it cleaned up by a local game store. I had a copy of MGS1 that would like to crash just after a boss fight, got it cleaned and it runs like new.

Also, some PS2's have backwards compatibility issues - tend to be the earliest models though. If it says 'Disc Read Error' and the disc is clean it's probably the console. But you can get PS1's pretty cheap online and in second hand shops.
