Green Hyperblaster?

I heard you can get other Hyperblasters depending on the ranking you beat the game with like the Hyper Spray in SH2. Assuming it's true...my question is this...

Do you have to get the 10-stars with a UFO ending only?

What exactly are the conditions for 10-stars? Same as the others?

10 stars: play the game in all endings, with the best rankings you can get, rinse and repeat until the UFO ending (the last to be played) gives you an upgrade on that useless gun. I personally prefer seeking for the katana.

So you have to have the 10-star rank...then get the UFO ending again right after for the upgrade, yes?

Actually I just tried this:

You can get the green hyperblaster by getting a 10-star rank on any ending, but...
You LOSE your green hyperblaster if you fail to keep a 10-star rank after each game.

I'm a cheater and I just used gameshark to get my green hyperblaster back, but my first time I got it on my own.

Exactly. I could be wrong--memory is hazy even though I played it for 64 times, the last being five years ago, so maybe if you already have it in your inventory--which it will be by default after you beat the UFO ending once, you can go for the other endings. The ten star ranking itself will upgrade your gun, so if I may correct myself, aim for a good+ ending.

The Hyper Blasters do more damage depending on color, although my memory is a little foggy right now as th what does what. It's been a while...

Are you the forum member that Silent Hill was the first video game they played through? Or was that someone else?

Yes, he is.
But Silent Hill 1 was my first - of the series anyway.
