As far as I know, every PAL version of Silent Hill is the censored one, with the demon children removed.

I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

I just read, that those demon children are also NOT in the japanese version and that they are only in the us version. Have they been added espacially for that version?
I also read that the pal version has a letter, which the us version dosen't have. Which letter is it?

They're in the US and the Japanese version, just not in the PAL version.

The "letter" is not a letter, but a newspaper article concerning the fire that put Alessa in the hospital. There's a topic around here somewhere... I'll get back to you with that.

Edit: I just heard, that in the latest delivered german versions of the gemae, are even more things cut out then the demonic children.

Is that true?

As far as I know, the only way to get the completely uncensored versions of the games is to go to Japan. However, even after all of that, the games might not work on your system because of that infuriating region thing. :x

Everyone knows just how strict the British Censoring Board or whatever they're called are. Always banning the best games or stripping them down of their best content.

Where did you get that clip from, dustfungo? It's in English, not Japanese. Is it still on the Silent Hill game disk?

I never really understood this whole censoring thing I remember playing this game a while ago with a friend of mine and still thinking of the clawfingers as children or at least representations of them.

I guess for me at least the censoring didn't make a difference

The newest Japanese version doesn't have the mumblers (demon children), replaced by the clawfingers (teddy bears), so don't bother getting it, as well as the US version. The original versions, though, still have the children.

Ok, I know about games having a [JAP] (Japanese) version, and a [UEA] (Usa, Europe, Australia). But I never understood what PAL stands for. What is a PAL version of a game?
