Or can he escape his fate?

Never opened the locker.
Why?
To save the cat from dying.

Re: the locker cat
Haha, a good point. Personally the cat was just the starter; the main course was getting to the locker in the otherworld, where you get to the same locker the cat was in, only to find it empty. Then you move a couple of paces and the corpse falls out the locker. That scared the sh*t out of me lol.Nix wrote:Never opened the locker.

You watch the cat leave the lovker room, then you hear it get eaten by whatever happened to be outside.

^And even if you took the time and effort to clear the entire building of monsters before opening the locker, the cat dies anyway. What, was a monster just randomly spawned outside the locker room just to eat the cat or was it wearing a stealth camo so Harry didn't notice it?

@SpaceProg, I would love to play as a cat! I would try so hard to keep it from dying! I'd love to jump on things high up to avoid enemies. And I might actually like a physics system for the furniture and stuff in that game.

Re: the locker cat
I've actually given this more thought and it may be a very unique way to take in Silent Hill. Through the eyes of an animal. How things may be distorted, and what the animal would find scary being made manifest. To BE the Locker Cat.Doctor Eggnog wrote:@SpaceProg, I would love to play as a cat! I remember watching my friend play it. When the body fell out of the locker, she let out an extremely loud screech that shook her house. No joke. It was hilarious. And the kicker is that she played that part 4 times before that time.

The cat causes new monsters appear; when you leave that room 2 new children are right in your face stabbing your legs before you can react...Shadow wrote:^And even if you took the time and effort to clear the entire building of monsters before opening the locker, the cat dies anyway. A Silent Hil game with an animal? Interesting... Although I don't think an animal can bear darkness in its heart would be interesting to see the otherworld through its eyes... The animals have a sixth sense for the supernatural stuff after all...
Re: the locker cat
Oh come on everyone! Let us not think so negative.
Let's just imagine the other way around;
The cat killed a monster for you on it's way out, that was creeping towards you.
Where did the cat go afterwards, you wonder? Well, it went to hide in a safer place than the locker!

But if it could kill a monster so easily, why would it hide. It just doesn't add up I say. No, not one bit. lol
Re: the locker cat
PETA's going to complain about the cat, sooner or later.

Re: the locker cat
Yeah but PETA would have killed it anyway if Harry had taken locker cat to them, probably on the grounds that it was a "broken being" having spent so much time in a small, cramped environment. Then they'd have chucked it's carcass in a dumpster behind a shopping centre, because they're cool like that.

That cat has nothing to do with the story of the game, it's just a detail to scare the hell out of you.

Re: the locker cat
Or does it have everything to do with the story and we just haven't seen the clues all these years.

Re: the locker cat
Ah the locker cat... Absorbed into Alessa's nightmare. All caught up like Lisa, Cybil, Harry, Kaufman, and Dahlia... After theorizing a lot I have come to the realization that the locker cat is indeed the most important character in the game. Nay, the entire series....
"Lowlifes... Shameless filthy wretches. How you celebrate my ascension with such joy. Hailing the very one you've condemned for generations. Have you no shame? What happened to the evil, ruthless sorceress from your fantasies? The cold-blooded tyrant that slaughtered countless men and destroyed many nations? Where is she now?"
