1: It was released in 1999 - seven years ago.
2: It's made for a platform on which no new games are released.
3: Those who've had a chance to get ahold of the game know better than to give it up.

Fret not, however; there's rumors of a remake. After the movie's release I don't doubt that some type of re-relase for the first game will happen. My suggestions? Take a look at the used racks of your game store - look at reputable online shopping sites, Amazon, for instance. Keep an eye out for it next time you're shopping...

If you ask at the desks of game stores sometimes they can dig up an old copy of it from 'out back'.
Lol I just bought a preowned copy 2 days ago I wanted to relive old memories

I got mine from a friend of my mom's, getting the official strategy guide is almost as impossible-majority of them sell for $100 or more. :(

Please, do not discuss things about the movie in other sections other than the section dedicated for the movie itself. Many people are trying to avoid spoilers of any kind, so we'd appreciate if you do it in the proper place. Thank you.

I found an original copy of SH1 in a used bin at Gamestop, and I went to buy it only to find out that they changed the Mature game purchase age to 18 in Washington State. Fuck that.

Sounds like the movie to me.

Anyway. I know I saw quite a few copies (used or new I don't know) on Amazon.com market place. And I think there's always some on eBay.

No, you were talking about the remake of the game which may be remade to follow the story of the game. So, by extension, you were talking abotu the game.

Oh, and I'd refrain from calling F "buddy" and telling him to read more carefully next time or he just might rip your head off.

Yes, it's a hard game to come by these day, I know from experience a few yrs ago when my nephews broke it along with a few others.

If you look hard enough, you'll find a copy.
I/ve said this before, just get the local phonebook, search under games (store with the word game in it) then call each and everyone.
One of the MANY store will have a copy.

If you do get a hold of it, take good care of it. I let my friend Scott borrow it and he won't admit to scratching the hell out of it, but it worked before I gave it to him so uh..That really sucks. He scratched my Silent Hill 4 too. And Soul Calibur 3. If he didn't have so many tickets to pay I would hit that bitch up for so much money.

Damn
Everything but SH Experience and the Room is sold out on Game Stop.

Why does it take a movie to bring such works of art to more peoples attention????

sure, i understand.
It just seems it has to be on the big screen before anyone notices...

Edit: for what it is worth, I have 2 copies of SH1, the original and the Greatest Hits one.
I had a third I would sell you for a reasonable price, but I ended up giving it to my brother.
