How old were you when you played the first silent hill?

Have you seen Harry's daughter anywhere? Short, dark hair?

Wow, I've never heard of that. All the game places I go to will clean any disc for a fee (between $5-10, depending on the place).

I'd use an emulator too, then. You do own the disc. If you own the disc and can manage to run it on your PC I don't think it's illegal in any way.
Basically, an emulator is a program that lets you play non-PC games on your computer. They work by either downloading the game as a file (a ROM), or if you own the game disc it will run your disc so you can play the game. I only use emulators for games I have been given or have paid for, so I'm pretty sure that's 100% legal.

I know your disc doesn't work, but I've found that sometimes games that won't run on my PS2 will run alright on the PC.

I don't really think it was a certain part in particular. The atmosphere just creeped me out so much that I was compelled to turn the lights on out of paranoia. I think, if memory serves, that it was shortly after I arrived at the school's Otherworld.

Think I was 31/32 so I had been playing games for a long time when I got to SH. I'll always remember those nights playing SH1 on my own, in the dark. I never realised I could get so scared playing a computer game !

The first game in the series I played was Silent Hill 2, and that was when I was about 12 years old. It was my mother's game, but she had never beat it, so I started playing to try and find out why...turns out, it was freakin' scary as hell! :D
Nevertheless, I fell in love with the series.

18, I think I got it in January. Just and finished it three days ago, still unnerving at some points, the cat in the locker particularly.

I was 9 years old when I watched my older brother playing the game and with 14 I played it myself right after finishing Silent Hill 3 ^^ So I played the two games in reverse, which was a very interesting experience 8)

I was 15 and no trauma developed. After all, I watched Akira when I was 8, so...

It was the most suggestive horror game I played til then.
