This so much.
My own personal dislike of a genre of music = a "fad?"

It's just not my thing. I've heard more than enough of that genre to decide that the lyrical content, music, beats, or whatever just aren't my thing. I pretty much hate 99% of current music anyways, though, so don't take it personally.
GET OFF MY LAWN!

Sampling can bring about really fantastic things, but I'm much more in favor of creating from scratch or using sampled material in a way that distances itself from the original source to the point that it becomes something new. There are exceptions, of course, but that view is primarily influenced from my background in art stuff.

Nope, that's not what i meant. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion but i was talking about people that i mention earlier that generalize hip hop and don't really know much about the genre.

See what i said here:
I've noticed people who are usually like "rap is crap" always list reasons that they don't like Hip hop as: "They all talk about bitches and hoes" "they just rap about being gangsta and killing people" "all hip is about is money, cars, etc." What's funny is that if you actually think that's what hip hop is it proves that you have not listened to enough hip hop to judge it. Generalizations about hip hop prove people's ignorance about the genre. You have to look for music in more places than mtv.
My only problem is that there is kind of a fad about people talking trash about hip hop. This fad usually involves the arguments of hip hop not being music and being about hoes and all the other stuff i mentioned in the quote. I was only saying that those type of people don't really know enough about the genre to hate it, especially since there are so many different styles of hip hop. Now of course you're entitled to hate or dislike hip hop music, im just saying i don't like people who hate it that really don't have a clue about it. Also i wouldn't say hip hop is just current music either, it's not really a new genre, that would be dubstep.

It seems so far that people who like an artist are okay with them sampling from another song they like, but oh snapzilla if they don't like the artist.

Now I know there was some discussion about how Akira also used samples, but this is a little different as the part sampled in the Bizzy Bone song was not a sample that Akira found, but McGlynn's voice. Still though, I don't think the song sounds horrible, so I'm not upset that it was sampled. The only time I would be upset is if the song truly was horrendous

The Burial song sounds awesome! Now, this is one of those songs that I think the fans won't be mad that he sampled Lost Carol because he, I guess, "did it justice"? It was used in a song that fits in with SH. Where as the Bizzy Bone song was somewhere way off from SH lol

And I always enjoy your songs VIVIsect!

Why do I feel compelled to say again that Bizz Bone did not produce this song and had no idea about the sample.

I can see what you are saying because hip-hop is such a wide genre of music. To be honest hip-hop is both my favourite and least favourite genre.
Bizzy Bone though is possibly the greatest rapper ever and could give Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Room Of Angel a run for the money if you want a really moving song.
Songs like Nobody Can Stop Me, Murda Me, Change The World & Jesus can make you feel really emotional.
