Re: Akira Yamaoka sampled material (updated 8/11)

That sounds really awesome VIVI! I'm definitely interested in this since i use Reason.

Another thing, he also used samples from 260db which comes from AMG. There might be more from the other AMG sample libraries, but otherwise, i'm not sure what else he used.

Yet another Bizarre Guitar discovery:

'Verbonics' is used as the lead synth in 'Memory of the Waters'.

Found some more!

1. "SHADOWLANDS2" from Bizarre Guitar
From the song "Different Persons" - Used to create that whirling female ahh.

2. "INSULATOR 1" and "INSULATOR 2" from Distorted Reality 2.
This is the sound the greedy worm from SH4 makes when moving around. It sounds he's been using filters to get to the end result.

3. "SPACE MAMMAL" from Distorted Reality 2
I know this comes from Silent Hill, but i'm not sure which game it's from...

Ah, thanks you guys. Man, just when I thought I picked out everything from the Spectrasonics libraries! I'll be updating the .zip file this weekend as well as starting work on the Reason Refill for everyone who is interested. :)

Some more... One of them i found some time ago, but i completely forgot to post it.

1. "GRACE CHOIR" from "Distorted Reality 1"
Not exactly what i call music, but it was used in the end of the Born from a Wish scenario: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vox3ayX0Gy0

2. "LAPLAND" from "Bizarre Guitar"
Used in the TGS 2000 trailer of Silent Hill 2.

One more thing, i wonder about one of the samples used in "Heaven's Night". It's most noticeable when the pitch goes higher at 0:36 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8A22ulogJs) and i have a feeling it's one of the samples that we've already found, but i don't know which one it is. Anyone know?

BTW guys, the guitar that's in Breeze in Monochrome Night is a sampled guitar as well. I've heard it in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. I've never been able to find this one.

^ You know, I originally got "Bizarre Guitars" hoping that it would contain that ONE guitar sample. Who know that I'd end up finding a TON of other stuff instead? Ha! I'll eventually find it, and when I do, I'll be posting it here.

The Reason Refill should be up by next week. I just need to run the drum loops through Recycle and package everything. :)

While playing Little Big Planet a little earlier, I noticed that the BGM for the Metropolis level "Subway" using the same beat from "Lives Wasted Away" from Shattered Memories.

Subway I'd just pay very close attention at 3:40.
And here at around 4:40; it's much more clear when heard in game, but you can faintly hear it off the official soundtrack with the overlaid beats.

The sample "GEISHA" from Bizarre Guitar was used in Laura plays the piano.

I hope no one has posted this one before.

^ I'm thinking that the very beginning of the sample was used at around 1:30 (and throughout) in Laura Plays the Piano. It's a bit difficult to tell, though.

I should be posting the Refill for Reason within the next day or two. Would have been done already, but I've been a little busy.

1. "MusicFX 10" from 160dB Drum&Bass Interface
It was used in Pulsating Ambience and Resting Comfortably from Silent Hill 4

2 "Lost Horison" from Spectrasonics Distorted Reality 2
This was also used in Resting Comfortably from Silent Hill 4

Holy crap! I just found the sample libraries Akira used to create the industrial music and sounds.

They're called Titanium Rhythm Industrial Percussion 1 & 2. I do not own the sample library, so I don't have any samples to show you guys, however there are audio demos of the sample libraries:

Audio demo of TRIP 1 http://www.jasonjonessounddesign.com/ti ... 1_demo.mp3
Audio demo of TRIP 2 http://www.jasonjonessounddesign.com/ti ... 2_demo.mp3

Couldn't this have been utilized for Memory of the Waters as well?

It sounds almost the same, but that is a different sample called VERBONICS from Bizarre Guitar. It sounds like they're the same because they both came from the same library.
