Yea i like the sound of Alien Skies. I don't think it will have and Sh samples cause I think i was released in 2010.

I know it doesn't. I'm just sayin', for my own personal use, I'd like to have it.

Really, there ain't a whole lot of Yamaoka samples left to be found. A few stray ambiences and beats maybe, but pretty much all the major ones I have been interested in have been identified. I'm not really putting any effort into tracking down this stuff anymore.

Also VIVIsect, how can one convert .nki files to .wav? I'm not quite sure what program files are but I would like to have it in and .wav format instead. Any suggestions?

.nki files are just patch files for Native Instruments' Kontakt sampler. A lot of third party libraries come with both .nki files and samples in separate folders. You can use those samples however you want. Other libraries are copy protected and you can only use them with Kontakt. There is, however, a cracked version of Kontakt that will allow you to export .wav files from protected libraries. Personally, I just use Kontakt. You really can't ask for more in a sampler.

Found a few samples a while back. Can't remember the names, but I'm currently looking through the libraries again, so I'll write back here once I locate them :-)'

In Loopmasters: Atalanta Chill, I found the following:

1. "ATL_75_Drumloop_01" - It sounds a lot like the filtered beat in "Alone in the Town", but it's hard to tell since this sound isn't processed.
Currently filming my fan film called "SILENT HILL: BLACKOUT".
You can follow its progress on the sites below:

^ I mentioned that same Atalanta Chill loop on the previous page. To me, it sounds like a variation of the Null Moon beat; with a sub kick and a ride cymbal layered on top. That loop was most likely recycled from an older Loopmasters library. I'd bet money that same mystery library contains a couple other beats from the SH2 soundtrack.

Hey VIVIsect, I forgot to mention a long time ago that there is also a library called
D- Day Megaton Bomb 1/2 by BFA that has Titanium Rhythms in it. They are actually selling them on ebay. I might order it when I get the money.

^ Cool! If you do end up getting it, let us know if there's anything on it. :)
VIVIsect wrote:On the track "Last Stop, Windows Up" (from the Shadows of the Damned OST), the beat is taken from the the sample library Dark Downtempo 2 by Beatserv (which is very reasonably priced on their website for $10).
In addition to this, the beat used on Cold Turkey (also from the Shadows of the Damned OST) is also taken from Dark Downtempo 2.

Okay. Also do you remember this song in SH4 because I have the sample of the sound in TR2 but i just don't remember this. There would really be no point of posting the sample on it if it wasn't heard in the game...or its just me. They didn't really have any industrial sounds in SH4.

EDIT
Just found more samples from SHSM, SH4, SH3. Will post them soon.

EDIT
Titanium Rhythms Vol.1 can be found here!

^ Would you mind editing in a description for the material you found? Thanks!

And... $165 for Titanium Rhythms?! Too rich for me! I like to have it, but I couldn't imagine spending more than $50 (at most) for it.

EDIT:
Also, a lot of the samples in your .zip file have already been mentioned throughout this thread. Not sure if you're aware, but the Cuckooland libraries that you mention were later all compiled and released as one big Kontakt library called Altered States, which a few of us have and have already picked through.

It contains the libraries:
Ambient Volume 1
Ambient Volume 2
Cuckooland Unhinged
Cuckooland Ghost In The Machine
Cuckooland Asylum
Cuckooland Ambience
Malice In Wonderland
Fields of Motion
Junk Percussion
Dream Zone
Ibiza Chillout

The descriptions are in the folders.

And yeah. Altered States has a few samples from each library, not all from the original ones.

Did you take a listen to them all?

Yeah, and your post is still a random link with no description for what people might be downloading. A description would be helpful.

More than "a few"...

I did. There's a couple samples that I don't recognize, and there's some samples that have already been discussed here.

Anyone know what sample is used in the beginning of Megaherz's Gold (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h43rvrqpLpM)? It sounds like something out of Silent Hill 2/3. I could swear the beginning sample came out of one of the samples from a Collection that AY used.

You are correct.

Yamaoka used that sample for SH3's Maternal Heart.

It originates from Spectrasonics' Metamorphosis library.

Thanks.

What's the sample used in Never Forget Me, Never Forgive Me? It sounds like I might have it in the main zip but I can't place it.

Also, can anyone place the sample (quirky music playing, not ambiance) used here: Unhappy Carousel?

Anyone find any more samples? The zip (according to the thread title) hasn't been updated since January. I've got most of the other (not included in BIG zip) zip's/wav's that other people have put up on here. Some of the links are dead though.

Sorry. That track is long gone.
In honor of (most likely) never being able to hear the track VIVI made I made my own song out of samples used by Akiyama and named it after his track.

I just bought this sample library today. I have to say, if you're looking for Silent Hill-type sounds, you should definitely consider picking it up. The "Industrial Noise Loops" are very reminiscent of the Titanium Rhythm loops used by Yamaoka.
