Saltillo (Menton3) makes amazing trip hop. I actually recently ordered his new album. Beautiful stuff. Not only is his art very appropriate for SH, but so is his music.

While not as menacing, Wim Merten's Galba gives the same feel of dread as in the first Silent Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fas9uS1wxIw

I haven't clicked on every link in this thread, but I've noticed that almost every post is an instrumental track.

I'm wondering if there are any VOCAL songs/bands out there that resemble the VOCAL music from Silent Hill? Like You're Not Here, Hell Frozen Rain, When You're Gone, and Shot Down in Flames, to name some.

Hah! Nice! I can't be the only one who also thought of Silent Hill during the big cliffhanger near the end of series 4, during Walt's breakdown into near madness...

Absolutely amazing, pisses all over most cliffhanger music.

Search around for Industrial or Dark Ambient style of bands.
It comes to mind some of Nine Inch Nails material and Nurse With Wound, which are kind of like the in-game tracks of Silent Hill.

Selected Ambient Works, Vol. 2 - The official unofficial soundtrack to Silent Hill 2

I'm serious. Every single track sounds like it could have been in this game.

Some tracks of Drag-on Dragoon reminds me of Silent Hill.

The sample(s) at 2:00 sounds like right out of the Titanium Rhythms libraries (the primary libraries Yamaoka used for industrial stuff).

I guess this reminds me of "Float Up from Dream" from SH3? :p

Guys, you HAVE to listen to this! Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have done it again. I've always thought their work resembled Akira Yamaoka's but this score could literally fit any of the Silent Hill games. It's that good.

The intro and Not Tomorrow's have their similarities but not identical.
