This should be the actual UK cover for the DVD, I like it a lot.

I was reading through a Blockbuster magazine about a week ago and it showed the upcoming release of the DVD, and the box cover was the exact same as the movie poster. The only good thing about it is that the movie is being released around the end of August!

I'll post pictures this coming Wed/Thurs. of the box art. Don't worry, they'll be legit copies of the movie. :wink:

Lolz, ours is much better than the US one. Minus the cheesy tagline.

Play.com changed the cover three times during these weeks... I suppose the last one they show it's most likely the official UK cover: http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/1026525/ ... oduct.html

HMV Exclusive cover should not change at least...

*Commence moaning and wailing* Damn you, US distribution and packaging! Why, why are we stuck with such a craptastic cover?? I may just have to find a more suitable cover and remake it for myself, as Pink suggests... regardless, I'm still gonna buy it.

I'm such a whore to my obsessions sometimes... :oops:

You could buy the R2 DVD on-line, depending on whether or not the DVD player you want to use can read R2 DVDs...

I don't even know what an R2 DVD is, much less whether or not my DVD player can read 'em... *feels old*

@Lain:

You can check the manual of your DVD reader, if it says that it can only read R1 (Region 1 = USA + Canada), you cannot play DVDs purchased from UK sites like Play.com or HMV.
Afaik, divx players are usually region free, so they can read all kind of DVDs on Earth; for non-divx players, your mileage may vary...
Also check that your TV supports PAL format, which is the standard for Europe and Australia, so R2 and R4 DVDs are usually PAL.

If you plan on playing it on your PC, there should be no problem for PAL format; DVD-ROM players can usually be set region free with a modified bios that you have to flash in Dos mode... or you can change for a limited (usually 5) amount of times its region. I know there are also softwares that bypass the region protection, but I never tried them.

After this post, I guess you'll definitely go buy the European DVD, uh? :mrgreen:

I saw a commercial on tv today for the DVD. This is an American commercial. And it advertised the cover that is loved and hated among the general consensus of this forum.

Can't say I'm very fond of the cover art, but I'll manage.
I think I'm going to end up printing out someone else's for it so that I won't groan every time I see the box.
