You do realize that not all anime is childish and silly. Some of it is dark and serious.

The picture is great. As for the anime series, I agree that there is some good dark anime out there like Hellsing but if SH was to be made into an anime series the idea would have to be pulled at the first sign of cuteness.

I doubt they'd animate it cutely or put anything cute in it. They'll probably have a few moments of that good old anime humor but that's it.

It could work if they wanted to do a Princess Heart spinoff anime.

Nothing to do with Silent Hill necessarily, she just runs around in that ridiculous outfit fighting monsters with her Sexy Beam!

Only of those you listed is dark and serious and that is FMA, the rest is all childish. AS for Silent Hill, there probably will never be an anime based on this for Konami probably never will allow it, for obvious reasons it would seem. :D

I still say there should be at least a manga series. NOT those crappy graphic novels that are out already. A manga series with the story done BY Team Silent and drawn by this person.

You're right about that. And actual manga too. No crappy colorful comics. I'm currently working on one based on one of my stories, I'll post it when I finish, in about a year or so though. And then maybe, if a manga is published, a "GOOD" studio might pick it up.

Not all anime is drawn with big chibi eyes and cutesy style. A couple other super-serious and well-known ones would be the movie Akira and Ghost in the Shell. Keep in mind that the Silent Hill series is created by people of the same culture as anime creators!

Off the top of my head, the only anime I know that has been 100% serious during every single episode, without even a moment of mild humor, is the beautiful Twelve Kingdoms series. That one is based on a series of novels, unlike most anime being based off of manga. Also, though it is hardly like SH, I must say that the portrayal of various individuals adapting to a new world they're sucked into is the most realistic I've ever seen. Not everyone is going to stay sane from such an experience...

I like these other names popping up that are said to be SH-esque anime. I will have to look into this 'BoogiePop Phantom', though I must admit the name sounds misleadingly like one of the cutesy anime. :P

Well,a manga series are a good idea, because It's easier to put and follow a deep and dark history with dialogues, and besides, with a black-white coloured pages is very easy to create a dark athmosphere and some coloured pages which would be a great ilustration,an original artwork.

With an anime series, there can be a great dark athmosphere, and there would be great fights against monsters, but there would be a lot of episodes if anyone wants to follow a Silent hill anime's history.Anyway,It's a good idea too.

Do try to read the thread before posting. Inu Yasha is a girly romance rip-off of Fushigi Yuugi, and let's not bring hentai, especially tentacle hentai, into the discussion. Please. Ever.

And yeah, BoogiePop is pretty crazy. That's a good anime to look into if you like SH. What a mindfuck... and not in the same way Akira is: BoogiePop is just out-and-out spooky.

But what about the end of the Silent Hill movie with the barbed wire. Tentacle rape is very relevant. That and guro.

And Heather can get killed by a tentacle monster in the game too. :D

On topic, I just found out that Melissa Williamson, the woman who sings some songs for the SH3 and SH4 soundtrack is also a famous voice actor for anime shows as well. Example would be Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in a Shell: Stand Alone Complex and 2nd Gig.

Yes, but barbed-wire douches and and death by tentacle ain't tentacle hentai... big difference.

Yeah, she's all over the place, in a good way. She was voice director in the Cowboy Bebop dub (perhaps one of the best dub jobs ever). She was Julia in that one, too.
Diggin' the Furi Kuri avatar, btw.

I hope it happens. (The Silent Hill, of course)

(EDIT: Just pictured Vincent as the token bishounen/pretty-boy... Gonna die in a corner now.)
You will suffer... as we suffer.

If there was a Silent hill anime, it would have to be dark and have a good storyline, think the complex storylines of Ghost in the Shell with the dark atmosphere of Hellsing.

I read the Hellsing manga, and it looked over the top to me. Not that I don't like it, but I don't think Silent Hill and Hellsing can be compared.

FLCL FTW

BTW, Joe Romerso also did a shitload of anime dubbing in his career too.

He's usually a bad guy, isn't he? He'd have to be, with a voice like that. *shudder* I gotta look up what he's done on imdb.com...

if there is silent hill anime then there will be silent hill hentai.....I REALLY dont want to see heather fucking monsters or Pyramid Head raping James or some shit......i have nightmares enough without those images being stuck in my head *shudders and convulses*
Everyone has killed an hour. Not casually or without thought but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combinations of giving up, and the resignation that getting past it is all you can accomplish. When at last it is over there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadow under your eyes or the line in the corner of your mouth indicating that something has been suffered, that in the privacy of your life you have lost something and the loss is to empty to share.

There is already Silent Hill hentai/porn. In fact, there is hentai/porn for every ficticious character you can imagine, so long as they have been previously made into visual form. Nothing is sacred, and nothing can hide. Silent Hill is especially easy prey, since it's mature-class media, and has gorey and sexual overtones in the first place.
