Not sure what you're asking, but if it's for the title of the song playing in the background of The Hunger on the UMD then it's from the SH1 OST. It's called "Silent Hill".

I can't use rapidshare so I don't know what you've uploaded there.

Anyway, on with my own question! What's the name of this song from the 1998 E3 trailer? It's one of the ending songs too but I can't find it on the SH1 OST.

There is no official title for it--it wasn't included in the Official Soundtrack--but I've recorded it & titled it "Letter From Silent Heaven."

What instrument is used in the Silent Hill theme song. I'm talking about the begining song in the movie during the TriStar opening, I can't remember if its in the games or not, I'm drawing a total blank. I think its a Sanshin or Shamisen, but I'm not sure. I would be very appreciative if somebody could tell me.

As Krist said, it's probably the mandolin or Russian balalaika as someone else speculated. Not quite sure.

It's supposed to be a mandolin, but it's all computerized, done with programming & keyboarding--so it's not an actual mandolin.
