what do you think he did?

i think he's guilt-ridden about letting his family down. he shouldve been there before they dissappeared, to help them.
alos, he couldve killed someone in the war, someone innocent. or his brother.

I would personally think it would be interesting if he had actually killed his father and brother, forgot that he did so, and then came back to look for them.

But, sadly, that has far too many echoes of James in it. Except, for a soldier, it'd be a little different.

So... Hell. Damned if I know.

Or maybe their father kidnapped the kid and was abusive.

thats what i ment. but yeah, youre right. that has, "Property of James Sunderland" written all over it. i like my guilt ridden theory, because noone went to the otherworld for that in the previous games.

I think it's quite obvious what Alex has done: killing people in a war.

However, that could be what The Collective would want us to believe at first. Another possibility would be that felt bad about leaving his family to join the army, or that he accidently killed his own partner in a war.

He could simply be caught up in events like Henry Townshend... But given that this game will be more like SH2, most likely something along those lines...

I really think its to early to ask what he did... but if i had to guess.
I think there going to pull a jacobs ladder.

I think he might have done a few bad things in the war, like shooting familys, for fun, and thats why he doesnt want to come back
maybe he has two sides
a nice side
and a evil side

I was thinking the same thing. The collective said that he did suffer a near fatal wound. I hope this isn't the case though, it would just be too... How would you say... Trendy?

Maybe Alex did nothing. Maybe his alternate "Silent Hill " is that of his brother or father, and what ever guilt they carry. And maybe because Alex has a blood tie them he's able to see it all......I don't know, just guessing.

Well at one point a lot of movies came out where the big twist was the that the character was dead to begin with and he/she just didn't know it. I'm not saying it would be the worst possible idea, but it wouldn't really quite have the impact The Collective propably would have intended.

And I'm not really up for another "I killed someone and forgot about it"-story, since as original as it was, it has been done. Maybe he or he's platoon intentionally killed a whole bunch of civilians and got away with it? Now that would be real nasty.

Ever since SH1 came out, there have been comparisons between the games and Jacob's Ladder ... I don't think The Collective would be quite foolish enough to steal that movie's ending for the new SH game (besides, in the last decade, it has become rather cliche in my opinion). I'm all for the "killing civillians/ guilt" thing, but looking at some of the monsters in the scans, especially Siam, the nurses, and the hammer-headed-blade-with-a-zipper-and-tongue, I'm definatly getting a more "sexual" message... perhaps he raped someone? Also, the morphine-bag/ life-support monster with metal claws caught my eye too (forget page... sorry)... perhaps it will have some relevance to his stay in the hospital and his "nearly fatal wound".

I have the same idea when I try to imagine the plot. But I'm sure it's going to be a mind-blower plot if the producer is trying to comparing it with SH2. Who would've imagined the twisted mine of James when we first get into the game.

I simply can't wait for it to come out. Along with SH0, 2008 is going to be a wonderful year for SH fans.
