I really hope that the town will have GREAT graphics and that there will be A LOT to explore! i also hope that it will make you feel afraid when traveling through the town. I love it when it feels scary. I think that they should definitely make it creepier as you run through the town even in broad daylight. They should definitely do that! =) They should also make you feel as if YOU ARE actually running through the town.[/i]

the water prison is real but it is a question of whether or not the water prison that henry goes to is in a "certain" reality.LanceS133 wrote:Are you sure? I think the town should look like it always has.. only with better graphic's of course. Also I agree with the posts above..that you should be able to go anywhere you like, that would add more of a realistic feel to the game.
I also think that the developers should pay close attention to what we fans have to say.. without going overboard and making it too fan based. They should have more depth in the story.. perhaps even putting more than just one protagonist into the game.. just an idea.

No I mean something like what was done in Siren.. where you switched characters every so often for different parts of the story. Like you start the game as Alex.. then you meet up with another character, see things through their eyes for awhile.. then later run into another character who coresponds to Alex's storyline.. then when that said character meets up with Alex.. then shift again to that character and play as them for awhile.. again just an idea.. and it would be something new and fresh to the series.

seems weird to me, since none of the other games implemented playing as anyone other than the one protagonist (except for "born from a wish", but that doesn't really count). i think it would only be damaging, in any case; it would really take away from the loneliness and personal creepiness.David01 wrote:No I mean something like what was done in Siren.. where you switched characters every so often for different parts of the story. no longer active. thanks for the memories.
I agree, the sense of isolation does make silent hill what it is... and makes the games trully creepy. So yeah I see your point.. it was just an idea.. considering how many people have probably come to that town in the past. It would make for a good multi player type experience, if not for the main game.

... No, sort of like the Silent Hill series, but longer.fudgestix wrote: Sort of like in the GTA series - I'd like that too. I'd like it so that as the story goes on you unlock more and more of the town (moreso that it usually does). Maybe a few more random open buildings, like the houses on the streets, or all the other buildings we visited in the other games, so we can compare them?

That is a ridiculous stance to have.

Not necessarily truth, Drakan. There's a way to do that successfully, IMHO: if you keep the two characters apart, one tailing the other, or both of them trying to find the other, never coming close, perhaps stuck between the rift of "Other worlds"? I would love that idea, personally, especially if one reality could shown signs of the other having been there, despite them.. you know.. not being there.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

I want a completly new town, big and dynamic as hell ! Im talking really using the Cell here ( oh right, its meant for Xbox to >_< ).
Kidding, but I really want a big town, alot larger then the one in previous Silent Hills.
( And even tho people say " A town couldnt change " , I really have to ask you if you think that the parts we see in SH1 really were meant to be " Old Silent Hill " or whatever you guys call it. Thats a coverup, the SH we see in SH1 is the one the console could handle at that time. And when it went to PS2 we saw a new town becuase we could now do it even better. Hate how people must canonys everything, and see the red thread through it all.
As we have newgen now, the town should be built from scratch again, more or less ).
And with dynamic I mean we should be able to enter "abandoned" houses that have nothing to do with the storyline, really be able to explore the town. Brake windows and enter shopps , explore the sewersystem , everything.
And, if now they make a remake on the SH we have seen before , one should be able to visit all the previous locations ( "more or less" ) and see how they look on nextgen ... Call it a easteregg =)

I want to be able to explore the ENTIRE town. All the locations from 1, 2, 3, & Origins. Developers now have the technology to do this, so they should go for it and make a massive game out of 'Homecoming'.

Good idea, I'd love to have it so you just got out of one building and it changes back to the foggy SH, I'm walking around and all of the sudden the streets and buildings begin to melt as I'm moving and the town shifts into the Otherworld. That'd be an awesome surprise and if it was done right, could be quite scary.Moosefrenzy wrote:Well, they need to keep the street layouts the same. For changes, SH5 should go Otherworld style on the streets as it did in SH1 for some new effects. That way you get the best of both worlds. The ability to re-explore old locations with nice new ps3 graphics, yet travel with unexpected twists all around. Not sure what Origins has in store since I have yet to play it, but we haven't explored the far depths of the Alchemilla Hospital/Antique Shop section in a while.
