Have any of you noticed...

Poor Alex ... his momma don't seem to like him much. We wonder why in here ...

The wounded man is talked about in the first paragraph.

You can be nice to him, or be an asshole, if you so choose.
I really like that.

Again with the bug esque manifestations...interesting. I am wondering perhaps the bugs/insects or whatever perhaps poisoned the guy in the jungle or something. Or maybe he was scared of them when he was in the war. There are many possibilities.

I wonder if you can have a potential boss become your ally in the game? I think that'd be incredibly fucking cool.

It doesn't look like plant material at all to me.

It looks like tissue- specifically wounded tissue. Or tissue that's been trying to heal but can't. In one of the scans posted earlier, one of the bizarre holes in the wall looked like a wound that had been stapled that had ripped open. I'm guessing that this ties in with Alex's trauma of being wounded in war.

Easily could be, though in the hospital and hotel I've noticed vines decorating the walls of the otherworld and I'm confident that it's something more than battle wounds...

I just can't put my finger on it. :x

Yeah it could totally be something to do with unhealed wounds, mental or physical. Or perhaps the location of where he witnessed traumatic events comes into play in the otherworld. Can't say for sure without knowing more.

Varg6, I admire your theories, but I don't think it's something that obvious. I mean, I'm hoping for some good metaphors as apposed to...

Alex is afraid of bugs and vines, that's why the town manifests those things!

I want it to be something like...

The vines represent Alex's memories working their way back into Alex's mind, and gradually through the game you see more and more because he's starting to remember what really happened.

Good idea or not?

(Also, what's with the boss becoming an ally idea? Sounds interesting...)

No I agree, my theories are the simplest you could ask for in a Silent Hill game. Just thinking, putting randomness onto my posts lol

I like your idea a lot. I am honestly hoping for something none of us can really understand or figure out until after we even beat the game. I want it to be unexpected; original.

interesting. it probably affects the ending.

the only plantlike material i've seen is in this screenshot. and... bug-type things are pretty common in silent hill already.
no longer active. thanks for the memories.

They can be seen through out the otherworld version of the hospital. I'm also assuming that they'll appear through the rest of the game, but I'm not sure about that.

Ive seen alot of screenshots of areas. Some of the monsters but none of the afore mentioned bugs.
Can anyone give a link to them.
Ive seen the normal enemies and bosses already.
I enjoy all the ideas of what the vines signify.
But we really have no story yet.

^ That sounds like a pretty legit assumption. Definitely an interesting topic of convo.
