New layout of Silent Hill?

Post by Shoot The Sky »

So this has me wondering. In most of the games the town slightly varries. So is there going to be a new layout? and if not what game are they using for the layout.

In screenshots and demos of the game, the places are unfarmiliar. so whats the deal?

They modeled some parts of the town after the film so I'm assuming they'll introduce a new section of the town. :)

Plus most screenshots we have seen so far are from Shepherds Glen, they are being very secretive about SH

Nope, that was below Alchemilla, in SH1 we explored above Alchemilla, so it was just a new area

Yes, I have. All of them numerous times. The maps aren't different--the games are just in different locations. And any changes that are made--such as Alchemilla Hospital's reconstruction--are explained by memos and the fact that several years pass between each game.

Yup, he's right and you're chatting shit. So far, nothing in the preview footage of SH:H has suggested that they've changed the layout of the town.

You guy's might get pissy at what I'm about to say but I really hope this game isn't sandboxy. Just because if your free to roam around Silent Hill, it isn't like the town is leading you somewhere like in the other games like your being strung along by the town. This first started to worry me when there was a video released (it was one of the first) and it showed gameplay of Alex walking to the edge of a road which had crumbled away, which was fine. But then Alex runs down a near by alley way which leads him into the trench, to me this doesn't seem right. Normally a collapsed road was indication that the road you were on was not where the town wanted you to go, which makes me think this game is going to have a lot more free roaming rather than a sinister faceless town escorting you into creepy situations.

While I agree that sandbox games are crap, I doubt that this is a sandbox game. Nothing wrong with a little more exploration, but I don't think you can just do whatever you want in it.

I am just wondering how much more they will add to the SH maps. Every time a new game comes out I have to make my personalized homemade map a little bit bigger. I am not complaining here. SH however is getting to be a pretty large town. Bigger than I had ever anticipated. (Not a complaint by the way)

We shall just see. This game may not actually have you spending that much time in SH anyways.

whoa whoa there calm down. when I said "Have you played the game? the map is always a little bit different. especially in origins" I didnt mean it to be rude in any way. I should have put a :P after have you played the game. I meant this because there usually is new sections that werent shown on the map before.

And unless the place in the footage was in Sheperds Glen, then yes, I have reason to beleive we are going to be introduced to a new part of town

As for the person who said about them doing constuction, I totally forgot about that memo :P I was like uhh why is the change In Brookhaven so drastic? aha

Brookhaven Hospital isn't in Silent Hill: Origins.

And, like I said, the change in Alchemilla Hospital is due to reconstruction.

Sorry I was drunk when I posted that, the point still stands though and yes Brookhaven and Alchemilla Hospital are totally different hospitals.
