Well, he could've gone to an Otherworld version of his house, like in the movie or something. Or he kept going insane until he went even crazier. Or maybe he went to the real world and Maria became a voice in his head. It ultimately doesn't matter.

That woman had a beatiful and kind voice, I felt like I needed to help her (even if you don't choose to help you'll end up on helping anyway, but I choose to help right away) and by the way, isn't she "singing" that famous wedding march?

No, it's a lullaby. You sing it to babies, but the name escapes me. "Go to sleep, and goodnight, go to sleep little baby" are lyrics to it.

The "I wish I could remember" line in the woman's dialogue seemed very sad.
