Ocean Room?

Post by QuestionSleepZz »

It's been a while since i've actually sat down and played this game, but reading some of these topics on here are begining to get me to want to do a 4th runthrough :D

anyway back on topic, I can remember, towards the begining of the game, in the hospital? If I remember correctly, there is this door in one of the very last hallways that when you approachit it SLAMS shut, and if you investigate, Alex's remark is something like "I can hear the shore"

What do you think this symbolizes? If anything O_o

EDIT: I used the search bar, and nothing came up, But i'm a noob here, so I apoligize if I did it wrong again :/

I would say that some, if not all locked doors in the hospital, represent what he "shut out", so to speak.

You'll notice that at the beginning, the door of 206 slammed shut as he passed it, which was presumably Alex's room in the hospital. Whenever you see Josh in the hospital, he's just beyond a locked door.

The lake represented a traumatic memory for Alex- so he shut it behind a closed door.

i see what you're sayin. i also think it might represent the inner peace that alex just can't get to.

mod edit: plus it's kinda redundant to mark a spoiler in a spoiler section. :?

a) Stop double-posting.

b.1) Don't post in a thread 3 days after your last post to tell the forum it's "redundant to make a spoiler in a spoiler section"

b.2) b/c doing so is redundant.

the door slaming could represent him being locked away from home(in the hospital)/the poeple not wanting him to come back so they shut the door on him.

I think the room probably represents the memories that he's locked away. Especially the ones involving the lake, meaning the accidental death of his brother. The door keeps him away from them, and likewise shows that he left them there when he was placed in the hospital. Dual purposes, sort of.

I agree with Sionnan & Nillin, I think that it does represent the memory of Josh that he has "closed off" or "locked away."

I also think this because on that door you find the childs drawing of a bunny in the water. "This bunny seems to be flailing about in the Water" which to me represents Josh.

Or maybe the shore could be the sound of static in the next room. There's a TV in that room that shows static and makes the sound of static as well.

I could see how Alex could've mistaken the TV for a shore.

It's pretty clearly the sound of the shore, after all, you can hear the sound of a booee... Uhh, boyeu? XDD

That shit that floats on the water and rings. Whatever the hell they are, however the hell you spell them.
